Shaquil Barrett Wants Long-Term Deal With Bucs
Thursday evening, Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker and 2019 NFL sack leader Shaquil Barrett appeared on NFL Network to discuss a plethora of topics with Willie McGinest.
Joining the show from a boat, Barrett made his de- sire to stay with the franchise who gave him his first shot at starting in the NFL very clear, saying,
“I’m expecting to still be down here in Tampa. I feel as though we both feel that we got a lot of good momentum from last year we’re gonna build on. So, we’re gonna try to work that out and figure

out what that’s going to look like but I’m confident I’ll be down here.”
The franchise record- holder in sacks in a single sea- son wants to commit to Tampa long-term, but it may not be in the cards this off-
season as the team appears prepared to place the fran- chise tag on Barrett in lieu of extending the 27-year old be- fore the start of the new league year.
Asked his thoughts about potentially being franchise tagged, Barrett said, “I’m gonna play off the tag, I got to. But I do want that long- term deal, it’s all about secu- rity for me and my family. That’s all I’ve been wanting for my whole time in the NFL, just get that security. Even a franchise tag, that’s still get- ting the security too but I just want a long contract and long-term security.”
The initial report on quar- terback Ryan Tannehill’s agreement with the Ten- nessee Titans on a new deal came without any financial terms, but it didn’t take long for word of those details to surface.
This is Tannehill sec- ond $100M contract. The first was with the Miami Dol- phins where he bombed. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback is struggling to get his first. The Bucs are looking to let Winston test the free agency Monday (today) hoping to get the 44- year-old legend Tom Brady. Will a team give Winston his money? Will Brady sur- vive a season with the Bucca- neers offensive line?
Jeff Darlington of ESPN reports that Tan- nehill’s new deal runs four years with a total value of
$118 million. The average of $29.5 million per year ranks seventh in the league, just be- hind the $30 million annual average of Falcons quarter- back Matt Ryan’s deal.
Darlington reports that the deal includes $62 million fully guaranteed and $91 mil- lion in total guarantees. PFT has learned that Tannehill will receive a $20 million signing bonus, a guaranteed $17.5 million base salary for 2020 and a guaranteed $24.5 million base salary for 2021.
With Tannehill under contract and the franchise tag deadline looming on Monday, it seems likely the Titans will tag star running back Derrick Henry who carried the team to ensure they hold onto the two biggest offensive reasons for their run to the AFC title game last season.
Adrien Broner Arrested For DUI In Florida
49ers Say 'No' To Tom Brady
The music is beginning to slow down, and the greatest quarterback in league history may find himself with not many seats from which to choose.
Chris Simms reports that the 49ers have decided not to pursue Tom Brady.
“It was Tom Brady’s No. 1 choice . . . to go to San Fran- cisco and be the starting quar- terback,” Simms says, adding that the 49ers eventually de- clined to pursue Brady.
The 49ers have instead de- cided to stick with Jimmy Garoppolo, Brady’s former understudy in New England who was traded from the Pa- triots to the 49ers in 2017.
With the Titans re-signing Ryan Tannehill, the pri- mary potential designations for Brady appear to be the

Patriots and the Buccaneers. One factor for Brady (and for the Patriots) could be the dis- tinct possibility that world events will result in a reduced or eliminated offseason pro- gram. That will make it harder for Brady to make the adjust- ment to a new team, new of- fense, new coaching staff, new everything — and it will make it more likely that he’ll want to let it ride for one more year in New England.
ADRIEN BRONER
Adrien Broner was re- portedly arrested for DUI in Miami Beach, Florida.
Broner was stopped by police at around 8:45 p.m. local time Friday night. When officers believed he was under the influence, they arrested Broner for DUI.
Broner was awake enough to take a mugshot at a nearby station.
Broner’s bond is set at $1,000. He was on an eight- hour hold and was in jail until at least 4 a.m. on Saturday.
This latest mishap follows a string of unfortunate head- lines for the former boxing champion. After a woman ac- cused him of sexually assault- ing her at a Cleveland nightclub, he was ordered to pay her $830,000 in a default judgment. He has also failed to appear in court multiple times for a December 2017 speeding incident.
