Jameis Winston
Gruden's Raiders Trade Best Player Khalil Mack To Bears
Colin Kaepernick’s
   Not Guaranteed
Collusion Case Is
 To Start Week 4
Headed To Trial
According to Buccaneers General mangager, Jason Licht, Jameis Winston's strong showing in preseason action won't guarantee re- possession of the starting job when he's reinstated from NFL suspension in Week 4.
Although Winston has shined to the tune of a 126.9 passer rating in August, Licht refutes the notion that the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 draft will simply be handed the QB1 role when he rejoins teammates after a grueling three-game slate versus the powerhouse Saints, Eagles and Steelers in September. Licht wouldn't say that about Tom Brady, Drew Brees or Carson Wentz who backup Nick Foles played lights out to win the Super Bowl. Wentz still has his starting job.
Appearing on WFLA-TV with Ronde Barber and
JAMEIS WINSTON Chris Myers during Thurs-
day night's broadcast, Licht emphasized that it's not "fair to anybody right now to just lay out that plan and to say definitively" Winston will be under center in Week 4.
Licht believes the Bucs are "very fortunate" to have respectable fallback options such as the experienced vet- eran Fitzpatrick and an im- proving third-string quarterback in Ryan Grif- fin.
KHALIL MACK
Former Tampa Bay Bucca- neers and new head coach of the Los Angeles Raiders has done it again.
Gruden, who won a Super Bowl with a Tony Dungy team, is responsible for dis- mantling the Bucs after the win. Now, through a a massive trade, the Raiders sent their best defensive lineman Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears, a demand he ultimately wanted since the Raiders acted like they didn't want to pay him.
Mack has agreed to terms with his new team, the Bears, on a new contract that will make him the highest-paid de- fensive player in the history of the NFL.
Mack reached agreeement on a record-setting 6-year, $141M extension ($23.5M per year avg) that includes $90M guaranteed and $60M at sign- ing.
Jaguars WR Marqise Lee Out For Season After Injuring Knee In Preseason Game
MARQISE LEE
The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without their top re- ceiver for the second straight year.
Marqise Lee will have sea- son-ending knee surgery and be placed on injured reserve, coach Doug Marrone said Monday.
Lee, who led the team in re- ceptions in 2017, was carted off the field Saturday night after Atlanta Falcons cornerback Damontae Kazee delivered a helmet-first hit to his knee. Tests confirmed what everyone in the stadium expected after seeing Lee’s knee buckle: The injury was clearly severe.
Marrone declined to pro- vide specifics about Lee’s in- jury but said the team has no plans to pursue a free-agent re- placement.
Colin Kaepernick’s col- lusion case against the NFL is headed to trial.
Arbitrator Stephen B. Burbank, who had been hearing the NFL’s case to have Kaepernick’s com- plaint dismissed, denied the league’s request.
Burbank decided that there was enough evidence from Kaepernick’s side to have the matter continue through the legal process.
Kaepernick is accusing the NFL owners of colluding against him. He has not been offered a playing contract since becoming a free agent in March 2017 even though most would agree he is more accomplished and talented

than a number of other quar- terbacks who have been signed during that period.
Kaepernick is arguing that NFL owners are collud- ing against him because of his leadership role in kneeling during the national anthem.

Jaguars Take Care Of Bucs In Exhibition Finale
Usain Bolt said it would take four months for him to reach his best after a first football cameo appearance for A-League club Central Coast Mariners on Friday.
A crowd of 9,958 -- around 2,500 higher than the Mariners' average home at- tendance last season -- turned out for Bolt's bit-part role on his Mariners debut.
"I was a little bit nervous, butassoonasIgotonthe field I think the nerves went away,' Bolt said. "I wish I had
Fourth-stringer Tim Cook ran for a pair of sec- ond-half touchdowns, and Carroll Phillips returned a fumble for another TD to help the Jacksonville Jaguars close the NFL preseason with a 25-10 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Cook scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards, while Phillips picked up a fumble by rookie quarterback Austin Allen and ran it back 28 yards dur- ing a 19-point third quarter that turned a 10-3 halftime deficit into a 12-point lead.
Regulars for both teams sat out the finale Thursday night in mostly empty Ray- mond James Stadium. A total of 34 players did not dress for the Jaguars, includ- ing every starter on offense and defense.
Tampa Bay’s starters had the night off, too, as did sus- pended quarterback Jameis Winston, who must sit out the first three games of the regular season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
Winston had a sharp preseason, completing 73 percent of his passes for 388

yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He will be eligible to return to practice and play in Week 4, when Tampa Bay travels to Chicago.
Ryan Fitzpatrick will fill in as the starter, with Ryan Griffin backing up the 14th-year pro, one of just four players in NFL history who’ve thrown TD passes for seven franchises.
The Jaguars, meanwhile, will head into their season opener against the New York Giants with heightened ex- pectations after going 10-6, winning the AFC South and coming within one victory of reaching the Super Bowl last winter.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Works Out With Kobe Bryant
One former NBA MVP got to work with a potential fu- ture NBA MVP.
Giannis Antetokoun- mpo worked out with Kobe Bryant and posted about it on Instagram Thursday. He seemed grateful for the op- portunity and said he “learned a lot.”
Antetokounmpo was only 21 and in his third season in the league when Kobe had his farewell tour with the Los Angeles Lakers, so he didn’t have a great chance to learn from him at the time. Now that Kobe’s retired, Giannis has blossomed into one of the best players in the league and

is hoping to pick up some tips. You can also tell that Kobe likes Antetokoun- mpo, because he issued the Milwaukee Bucks star quite an ambitious challenge last
year.
