MR. TYRONE ANTHONY JACKSON
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Tyrone Anthony Jackson, who passed away January 28, 2018, will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2 p. m. at Westside Community Seventh-Day Adven- tist Church, 1803 E. Shadowlawn Ave., Tampa, FL 33610, Pastor Byron Wells, officiating. Inter- ment will be placed at Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea St., Tampa, Florida, 33610.
Tyrone Anthony Jackson was born on September 24, 1955 in Tampa, FL. He received a call from God on January 28, 2018 that his work was done, and his eternal rest was waiting. He re- sponded with an astounding “yes” and joined hands with his Savior. Tyrone was the youngest of eight children born to the late Willie and Corrine Jackson.
Tyrone accepted Christ at a very young age. He grew up at- tending Sunday School and church service at First Baptist Church of College Hill. As an adult, his spiritual search led him to Catholicism where he cele- brated the Sacraments of Confir- mation and the Eucharist at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa, FL. He remained with this faith for a number of years.
After leaving Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he united with Progress Village Seventh-Day Ad- ventist Church, where he served selflessly as a member of the Usher Board, Community Serv- ice Ministry and Homeless Min- istry.
His work with the Homeless Ministry was so profound that it is recognized throughout the Sev- enth-Day Adventist Community. Paying the temporary housing fees for many homeless individu- als was his own private ministry, one that gave him a great sense of fulfillment.
Tyrone’s Community Service work extended beyond the church and into the community in other ways. He transported cancer patients to and from their medical appointments. For the church, he acquired donors who contributed to the Community Service and Homeless Ministries. He was an instrumental part of The Feeding America Program for the church.
He donated a van to both Westside and Progress Village Seventh Day Adventist Churches. He sponsored several children in the Adventures Club with their travel expenses so that they could attend their yearly Youth Confer- ence. He moved his membership to Westside Community Seventh- Day Adventist Church where he remained until his passing.
Tyrone attended the public
schools of Hillsborough County and received his GED. He was a certified welder but, chose to have his own business: Tyrone’s Car Detail. He was self- employed for over 30 years and had clients from all walks of life. He became interested in this business at the young age of 15 when his late god- father, Mr. Robert Hamilton brought him on as his apprentice. He took pride in using the best products and nothing gave him more joy than to see the sparkling finish on a vehicle.
Tyrone had a good heart and loving spirit. He was a great fam- ily man who loved his siblings, nephews, nieces and family as a whole. He treated his nephews and nieces as if they were his own children. He enjoyed his life and was a sports enthusiast. Tyrone collected antique cigar labels, boxes and humidors. As a season ticket holder with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he never missed a home game and collected all Bucs paraphernalia. His other interest was auto racing which led him to attend The Gator Nationals and Nascar Daytona 500 Racing; traveling throughout Florida and other states, following the car races, kept him busy and on the go.
He travelled extensively throughout the U. S. and abroad. His love for travel began at age five with his parents taking the family on yearly vacations. He was a sharp dresser who loved his clothes, shoes and jewelry. He was very charismatic and full of life. Everyone that knew him, loved him. Tyrone made a great impact on everyone’s life. He was a true friend who was always willing to assist where he was needed.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Willie and Corrine Jackson; and brothers, Willie Lee Jackson and Jacob Crawford Jackson, Sr.
