Cavs Coach Tyronn Lue Gets Call From President Obama After Title
Survivors Of Orlando Tragedy
Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue got a unique champi- onship ring -- from the White House.
President Obama called Lue on Thursday to congrat- ulate the coach on winning the NBA title and invited him and the Cavs to visit Obama in Washington before he leaves office. Lue spent nearly four minutes talking hoops with the president, who said he had already emailed superstar LeBron James to offer his congratu- lations.
"You did a really great job. It didn't hurt having this guy named LeBron James," Obama told Lue. "You should be proud of yourself. You did a great job on this and I really do think you brought cohesion and steadi- ness and a focus to the team. It really showed itself. You

should feel good about what you did."
Lue took over midseason after the Cavs fired David Blatt despite the team having a 30-11 record.
Lue modestly accepted Obama's praise and credited Cavs ownership and general manager David Griffin for assembling Cleveland's ros- ter.
"It was just unbelievable, and I thank those guys all the time for having the belief and confidence in me," Lue said.
After Nate Robinson's workout with the Seattle Sea- hawks earlier this month, coach Pete Carroll called the ex-NBA player's attempt to play in the NFL "all but impossible."
But that hasn't stopped Robinson from continuing to do on-field work with hopes of getting a look. He has been training recently with former Arkansas State wide receiver Dwayne Frampton.
"It's as hard as you could possibly get," Carroll said. "He's 32 as well. I don't know if anybody could do it. But if anybody could, it might be Nate. He's that versatile an

Robinson was a high school football star in Seattle before shifting his focus solely to basketball at the University of Washington.
He played 11 seasons in the NBA and spent last year play- ing basketball in Israel.
With rim protection and perimeter shooting ranking as the Lakers' foremost areas of concern heading into the open market, sources stated that Whiteside has emerged as a priority target.
The Los Angeles Lakers plan to aggressively pursue Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside when NBA free agency starts, according to league sources.
The Lakers, like the Heat, are still hopeful of securing a face-to-face recruiting meet- ing with Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant

DeMar DeRozan Focused On Raptors, Not Other Teams
Kyrie Irving Accepts U. S. Invitation, Fill Out Roster For Rio
Toronto Raptors star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan does not plan to schedule meetings with other teams at the start of free agency, opting to focus on working out a contract to re- turn to the Eastern Confer- ence finalists.
DeRozan, 26, a two-time All-Star who led the Raptors with 23.5 points per game last season, has been consis- tent in stating that his strong preference is to remain with the only franchise he has played for during his seven- year NBA career.
"My mindset has always been Toronto," DeRozan told reporters the day after the Raptors were eliminated

by the Cleveland Cavaliers. "I've always preached it. I was passionate about it when we were losing, when we were terrible. I said I was going to stick through this whole thing, and I want to be that guy who brings this or- ganization to where it is now. I definitely don't want to switch that up after we win."
Cleveland Cavaliers super- star point guard Kyrie Irv- ing has accepted an invitation to play for Team USA in this summer's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, league sources stated on Saturday.
Sources told ESPN that Irving, after deliberating all week following the Cavaliers' championship run, has in- formed USA Basketball that he will be on the plane for Rio, completing the team's roster.
Irving, the MVP of the 2014 Basketball World Cup, averaged 19.6 points and 4.7 assists for the Cavaliers this season.
