Man Confesses Beating Woman To Church Members
Man Involved In Police Shooting Identified
A 32-year-old man remains in jail after being arrested on New Year’s Day. He is cur- rently being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail.
According to the Tampa Police Department, shortly after midnight on January 1st, members of Strong Life Christian Ministries were holding church service. Members observed a man standing outside and looking in the window.
When they approached the man, he allegedly told them that he had attacked a woman and told them where to find her. The church mem- bers contacted police and the man left.

Police arrived at the corner of Mallory and E. 26th Street, where they located the
woman. Police said she was suffering from severe upper body trauma. She was trans- ported to Tampa General Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.
Police have not released any information about the victim.
Officers located Robert L. Washington, 33, near the intersection of 21st Street and 18th Avenue. He was found to have blood on his clothing that did not belong to him. He was taken into custody and charged with at- tempted first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, and two counts of vi- olation of probation.
Police have identified a man shot by an officer Thursday. The shooting took place Thursday in Ybor City.
According to a spokesper- son for the Tampa Police De- partment, officers responded to 1022 E. 25th Avenue after receiving a call of a burglary in progress. When officers ar- rived at the residence, at 10:53 a.m., the officers ob- served that a window was broken in the home.
They also recognized a ve- hicle parked outside of the home and determined that it belonged to a man they knew. Police said the owner of the vehicle has an extensive record and also had outstand- ing warrants.
Three officers entered the home and encountered the man identified as 40-year-old Joey Antonio Kennedy.
Police said the K9 Indo en- gaged Kennedy and Kennedy threw a flaming accelerant on the dog and on K9 Officer Tim Bergman. At that point, Officer Bergman in fear for his life, fired his service revolver

striking Kennedy. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening in- juries.
Officer Bergman was able to extinguish the flames and was not injured. K9 Indo received burns to his head.
A 12-year veteran with the department, Officer Bergman was placed on ad- ministrative leave, pending the outcome of the investiga- tion.

ORLANDO —- Officials continue to plead with the public to report tips on Markeith Loyd's location as the search for the man ac- cused of killing 24-year-old Sade Dixon and Orlando Police Master Sgt. Debra Clayton enters its 8th day.
Facts Being Released:
Broadcast on Facebook Live on Nov. 4, Sade Dixon and Markeith Loyd sat in their car during a traffic stop when the conversation turned to killing cops and to his driving.
“Go ahead and kill him, babe, so we can get home faster," Dixon said, appar- ently joking about the officer.
“Then we ain't never going home," he fired back.
The 24-year-old woman answered with a chilling re- mark: "You not about to kill me and the baby," she said in a playful tone, referring to his speeding. "I'm not gonna make it to 25."
A little more than a month later, on December 13th, in- vestigators say, he killed Dixon and their unborn child at her Orange County home. Then on Monday morning, police said, he killed a cop. Dixon would have turned 25 on January 23rd.
Loyd killed Master Sgt. Debra Clayton, a 17-year veteran of the police force after she confronted him near a Wal-Mart on John Young Parkway and Princeton Street.
Clayton dispatched that she was approaching a possi- ble murder suspect.

Markeith Loyd is still on the run. Loyd killed his ex-girlfriend and their unborn baby, Sade Dixon on Dec. 13 and after being confronted on Monday, January 9th by Master Sgt. Clayton he shot her multiple times killing her.

Now, as hundreds of local, state and federal law enforce- ment officers search for him, with a $100,000 reward for his arrest, he's gone silent.

The massive search has ex- panded beyond Florida, and has led to Loyd’s niece and employer being arrested for helping him.
