Emotions Run High As Guyger Sentenced To 10 Years For Jean's Murder
Support For Impeaching Trump Hits New High
Support for impeaching President Donald Trump is growing.
A batch of recent polling con- firms the Democratic impeach- ment push is gaining steam — including a new POLITICO/Morning Consult survey that shows for the first time that more voters support than oppose proceedings to re- move Trump from office. The uptick is primarily among De- mocrats, as Republican voters surveyed continue to have Trump's back.

impeachment proceedings vs. 43 percent who said they should not. Eleven percent had no opinion. That support rep- resented a 3-point bump from last week, when voters were evenly split.
Inside the courtroom, many observers cried includ- ing the judge as Botham Jean's brother forgave and hugged former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger, who had been convicted of murder in Jean's death. Outside, pro- testers denounced the 10-year sentence Guyger got as too lenient. She'll be eligible for parole in five years.

At the sentencing hearing, Jean's brother, 18-year-old Brandt, asked the judge for permission to hug his brother's killer.
"I don't even want you to go to jail," he told Guyger. "I want the best for you. Because I know that's exactly Botham would want you to do."
Thursday, Jean's father, Bertrum, told CNN that while he wishes Guyger's sentence would have been stiffer, he accepts the jury's decision.
