Local 13-Year-Old Missing For More
Deadline To Get Census In Is September 30th
Than A Week
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
The original deadline of October 31st has been changed.
Because of COVID-19, the deadline to return the Census 2020 form has been changed a few times.
Hillsborough County Commission Chair Les Miller stated earlier this week, “the deadline to re- turn the form is now September 30th. The Pres- ident changed the date from October 31st. After the dead- line, the Census Workers will start to knock on doors
of those households that have not returned the forms,” he said.
Commissioner Miller
is concerned because the number of returned forms are very low in minority and African American communi- ties.
“It’s easy to fill out and return the form. It can be done in a matter of minutes. You can mail the form in; do it on the website https://www.hillsborough- county.org/en/residents/citi zens/2020-united-states- census, or call it in at (844- 330-2020),” he said.
Miller also stressed the importance of filling out the
form. “Filling out the form has a direct affect on our community economically – meaning more money for schools and other projects, and could possibly mean we can add another seat to the U. S. House of Representa- tives. But it all depends on getting the census forms re- turned.”
Miller said he realizes that there are a number of things going on in house- holds, especially with school preparing to open or not open. That’s why he’s re- minding each household to take a few minutes to com- plete the form and get it in.
The father of a 13-year- old reported his son missing last week. He has not been seen since Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
Darren Jordan says his son, Jaylen Jordan, was last seen wearing a gray Jor- dan sweat suit.
A student at Village of Ex- cellence, Mr. Jordan says his son was spotted in the area of 34th St. However, he has not heard of any other spottings. Jaylen has not done this in the past.
Jaylen stands about 5’11” and weighs 102 pounds.
