DeSantis Calls For Harsher Penalties For People Involved In Violent, Disorderly Protests
Bloomberg Raises Millions To Help Florida Felons Vote
POLK COUNTY, FL — Florida's governor wants to crack down on violent and disorderly protests that threaten the safety of the public and law enforcement officers.
Speaking at the Polk County Sheriff's Office on Monday, Gov. Ron DeSan- tis announced the creation of the Combating Violence, Dis- order, and Looting and Law Enforcement Protection Act, which needs to be voted on by the state Legislature.
"Recently in our country we have seen attacks on law enforcement," DeSantis said. "We've seen disorder and tumult in many cities across the country."

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Just days after after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis won a court vic- tory to keep felons from voting until they've paid off fines, resti- tution and court fees, billionaire Mike Bloomberg has stepped in to help them pay off the debts.
The former Democratic presi- dential candidate has helped raise more than $20 million so that felons who completed their prison sentences can vote in the presidential election. Bloom- berg also has pledged $100 mil- lion to help Joe Biden win Florida.
