     Tennis Shoes Fundraiser
The 5K Run/Walk Febru- ary 26, 2022, will raise money for local charities.
More than 250 runners and walkers dressed in tutus and tennis shoes will head to historic Perry Harvey, Sr. Park in Tampa on Saturday, February 26, 2022, to raise funds for local charities.
This is the third year for Tutus & Tennis Shoes: Ele- vating ALL Children 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by the Greater Tampa Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
The national organiza- tion of mothers with chil- dren of color, ages 2 to 19 is dedicated to nurturing African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership develop- ment, volunteer service, philanthropic giving, and civic duty.
Since its inception, Tutus and Tennis Shoes has raised more than $75,000 for local charities including Aaron’s House, Children’s Cancer Center, Miracles Outreach and REACHUP. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jack and Jill of America Foundation, Inc., the national organization’s philanthropic arm, which provides donations to na- tional non-profit partners and awards grants to its chapters.
Last year the race was virtual due to COVID, and organizers are excited to see everyone in person.
“It’s wonderful to see how our signature event continues to grow, with more corporate partners and individuals getting on board,” said Dianna Allen- Quin, president of the Greater Tampa Chapter, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. “It’s a fun way to support the community and we are ex- cited to see everyone show off their favorite tennis shoes and colorful tutus!”
