A Change In Leadership:
National Coalition Of 100 Black Women, Inc., Tampa Bay Area Chapter, Elects New President
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. - Tampa Bay Area Chapter (NCBW-TBAC), has had some phenomenal women leading the Chapter’s advo- cacy agenda of Black women and girls in the Tampa Bay area over the last thirty years.
On June 18, a new presi- dent and newly elected offi- cers were elected to continue to move the organ- ization forward.
As an advocate and com- munity servant, Belinthia Berry comes into the presi- dency with an excess of ex- perience with moving from 1st Vice President of Pro- grams to the newly elected President. She has been a member of the NCBW- TBAC for eleven years. She served as 3rd Vice President of Membership, Public Rela- tions Coordinator, Public Policy Chair and co-chair of their mentoring group, Ca- reer Explorations, along with serving on all programs and event committees. Ms.
Berry is a current Board of Directors member on the National Board, along with the Co-Chair of the Inaugu- ral LEAD Academy class, a 15-month national leader- ship development program.
Belinthia Berry, M.S., is a native of Tampa, FL. She earned her Bachelor of Sci- ence degree in Public Rela- tions with a minor in Human Resources from Florida A & M University and a Master’s in Organiza- tional Leadership and Man- agement from Springfield College. She is also certified in Media Sales, Contract Training and holds several leadership certificates.
Ms. Berry is currently the Program Director with St. Petersburg College, where she manages work- force and professional de- velopment training programs that meet the needs of local and national businesses, industry and in- dividuals. Her experience is diverse and includes train- ing and organizational de-

velopment; consultative and business development; events and communication planning and social media.
The 2019-2021 leader- ship platform is, “Vision Is 20/20: Clear, Strategic And Delivering Change."
As the Chapter's youngest leader to take the presidency office, Ms. Berry provided members with a look into a two-year strategic plan that will cata-
pult the organization into changing the way it operates internally and externally in serving Black women and girls within our community.
“The time is now to con- tinue to develop a pipeline of advocate leaders for years to come. I look forward to working with our commu- nity and elected leaders to make the necessary changes to better our community,” she stated.

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. was founded in the winter of 1970 in New York City. Twenty-four black women led by visionary Edna Beach began meeting in their home to assess the problems and opportunities left behind in the wake of the turbulent 1960’s. The vi- sion of the organization is to see Black women in girls live in a world where socio-eco- nomic inequality does not exist. The mission is to ad-
vocate on behalf of women and girls to promote leader- ship development and gen- der equity in the areas of health, education and eco- nomic empowerment. http://www.ncbw.org/.

For thirty years the Na- tional Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Tampa Bay Area Chapter, has been sup- porting national priorities through programs that are designed to be transforma- tive, addressing current is- sues, concerns and the needs that impact the Black community.
