A St. Petersburg resident has been sentenced to more than 8 years in prison. He was charged with possessing with the intent to distribute cocaine, cocaine base, and hydromorphone, and for pos- sessing a firearm while com- mitting a drug trafficking crime.
U. S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday sen- tenced Antonio Morrow, 42, to 8 years and 5 months in prison. Morrow pleaded guilty to the crimes on May 1, 2019.

burg Police Department initi- ated a traffic stop of Mor- row’s car, after witnessing him fail to yield to pedestri- ans in a crosswalk.
The officers noticed the smell of marijuana as they approached Morrow’s car. When the officers removed Morrow from his car, he ran away.
He went a short distance before tripping and falling down. As he was falling, Morrow attempted to dis- card a firearm and a small bag of cocaine.
The officers recovered the firearm and cocaine and also recovered $2,726 from Mor- row’s person during a pat down search. The officers also found 30 hydromor- phone pills and 18 pieces of cocaine base in Morrow’s car.
The Clearwater Police De- partment is seeking help from the public. They are at- tempting to identify two men linked to a crime.
According to police, shortly before 3:30 a.m., Thursday, two men entered the 7-Eleven Store, 2030 Gulf-To-Bay Blvd. They at- tempted to remove cigarettes from the store. However, they became engaged in a scuffle with the clerk and fled without taking anything. They left the store in a newer model silver Toyota, police said.
