DEACON KENNETH LEROY JOHNSON
Deacon Kenneth Leroy John- son, age 75, of Tampa, Florida, transitioned to his heavenly home on January 6, 2022. He was known to his family and friends by many affectionate names.
Deacon Johnson was a mem- ber of Overcoming COGIC of Largo, FL.
He is survived by: his wife, Frances Johnson; 6 children, Pa- tricia Teems (Bruce), Clovia Cleveland (James), Zenovia Caines (Dexter) Kenneth Bo, Jr., Lashaundera Johnson, and Tierra Leonard; 21 grandchil- dren and 24 great-grandchil- dren.
Wake services for Deacon Johnson will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, at College Hill COGIC, 6414 N. 30th St, Tampa, FL, from 5-7 p. m. The Homegoing Cele- bration will follow on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 12 noon (at College Hill COGIC) with a viewing one- hour prior. Deacon Johnson’s Final resting place will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Park (Cemetery), Tampa.

MR. TREVOR ANTHONY DAWSON
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Trevor Anthony Dawson of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on December 28, 2021, will be held on Saturday, January 15th, 2022, 11:00 a. m. at Aikens Fu- neral Home, 2708 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Apostle James H. Howell, officiating.
Trevor, nicknamed “Fat,” was born April 7, 1987, in New Or- leans, Louisiana, to Gelinda Joyce White and Melvin Earl Dawson.
He enjoyed working in the computer and information tech- nology field as well as being a music producer.
Trevor was preceded in death by: his mother, Gelinda Joyce White; grandmother, Mary Daw- son; grandfather, George White; great grandmothers, Julia Thompson; Earth Ramsey; aunts, Dorothy Marshall, Sandra Gail Dawson, Patricia Ann Dawson; uncles, Gregory Anthony Daw- son, Dwayne Thompson.

MRS. JOAN C. HORACE
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Joan C. Horace, who passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, will be held on Saturday, Jan- uary 15th, 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Olive AME Church, 1902 W. LaSalle St., Tampa, FL., 33607, Pastor Gregory V. Gay, Sr., officiating.
It was at the dawn of day, Sis. Joan C. Horace heard the Master’s call. God gave His approval and summoned Joan into eternal rest.
Joan was born December 8, 1954, to the late Mr. Lester and Mrs. Essie Bell Lloyd (Stowers). She was the youngest daughter of eleven children, six of which pre- ceded her in death: Mellissa Jenk- ins, Gerald L. Reed, Sr., Nathan A. Cash, James L. Cash, Sr., Lernita E. Stowers, and Joseph L. Stowers.
Joan attended the public schools of Jacksonville, FL and was a member of Greater Payne Chapel AMEC. Joan moved to Tampa, FL. in 2010 joining her twin sister at St. Paul AMEC, under the leadership of Rev. Bryan Fayson, where she served on Usher Board #2. Later, Joan became a member of Mt. Olive AMEC, where she served as benev- olent chairperson of the Benevo- lent Committee, checking on the welfare of the sick and shut-in for the Gonzalez-Johnson Stewardess Board of Mt. Olive AMEC.
Joan loved to cook and had a heart for cats of all kinds. Joan will be remembered by the words of this song: “I don’t possess houses or land, fine clothes or jewelry, sorrows and cares of this old world my lot seems to be. But I have Christ, He paid the price way back on Calvary, and Christ is all, He’s all and all this world to me.”
Sis. Joan Catherine Horace leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Lloyd Bernard Tilllman, Jr. and Steadman Henry Williams (Jacksonville); granddaughters, Kanisha Snodey, Abrinna Robin- son, La’nyah Tillman and Tellecia Tillman; grandsons, DeShawn Ross, Lloyd Tillman, III, Ashton, Jordan Tillman and Braxton Williams; brother, Lester H. Stow- ers (Shirley); sisters, Vernita L. Stowers, Gwendolyn F. Washing- ton (Jacksonville), Rev. Jean V.S. Davis (twin sister); aunt, Evangel- ist Shirley Armstrong; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special acknowl- edgement goes out to Sis. Brenda Lindsay and Deaconess Katrine Harris for their dedication of friendship and devoted love they showed toward our sister during her time of need. Her life and legacy will forever be remembered and cherished by those she loved and those that loved her.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 14th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Sat- urday for the service. We are fol- lowing CDC guidelines.

A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. James Frank Lanier, Sr., who passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022, will be held on Saturday, January 15th, 1:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N 29th St, Tampa, FL 33610. Rev. Dr. Evan Burrows, officiating. The interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
James, nicknamed “Buddy,” was born January 11, 1950, in Mt. Vernon, Georgia, to Maggie Williams Lanier and John Wesley Lanier. He loved fishing, football, watching old western TV shows, and wrestling.
James was preceded in death by: parents, John Wesley Lanier, and Maggie Williams Lanier; wife, Hattie R. Lanier; brothers, Willie T. Lanier, John W. Lanier, Jr., and George H. Lanier; sisters, Francis Finch and Mae R. Grant.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: children, James F. Lanier (Glendese), Frank M. Lanier (Salena), Lakeysha R. Lanier (Josh), Marlene Bennett (Anto- nio), and Bernard Bennett (Inger); grandchildren, Chantel A. Lanier, DaVian M. Lanier, Javon T. Liv- ingston, Lexus Favreau, Bernard Bennett, Jr., Michael Williams, Toccarra Huff, and Miya Williams; sisters, Johnnie L. Johnson, Eva J. Cochran (Sammy, Jr.), Earlene Ray, Loretta Bell, and Claudia A. Gardner; a host of nieces, nephews, and special friend, Vi- vian. He will be truly missed.

MR. CHARLES JAMES THOMAS, JR.
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Charles James Thomas, Jr., “Baby brother”, of Tampa, Florida who passed away on January 5, 2022, will be held on Friday, Janu- ary 14th, 11:00 a.m. at Hillsboro Me- morial Gardens Cemetery, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Rev. Harris, offici- ating. The interment will follow.
Charles was born June 22, 1934, in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Charles Thomas, Sr. and Florence Thomas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the National Epicure- ans. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958, where he met and married Erma Booker. They were together for 55 years. Charles was an avid golfer and fish- erman. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to travel, and no one was ever a stranger to him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Booker Thomas; parents; Florence and Charles Thomas; sisters, Marian Thomas, Anniebell Johnson; brothers, Robert Thomas and Lewis Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory a loving and dedicated daugh- ter, Pamela Robinson; grandson, Gregory Robinson, Jr.; sister, Lil- lian Hooks (Alvin); and will be missed by a host of other family members and friends. He will be deeply missed. May God Bless and keep him forever and ever, Amen.
