A Grandmother’s Love Was The Driving Force Behind Skincare Company
BY MONIQUE STAMPS Sentinel Staff Writer
TJ Williams, the owner of The Blessed Company, has a mission to bring natural, or- ganic soaps, salves, and scrubs to the public.
Her passion is creating or- ganic, natural products and dedicated to the pursuit of optimal skin care.
“As African Americans we sometimes aren’t taught the importance of keeping natu- ral ingredients close to us, she states.”
Her interest in natural skin care began when her granddaughter, Avery was born in 2017. From birth she
was highly allergic to most things, and the soaps that were being used would leave her skin dry and crackly. She was diagnosed with eczema.
Williams went into the kitchen and began to see if she could create something to help her. She wanted to cre- ate a barrier to protect her grandbaby’s skin and ease the symptoms of eczema.
She wanted something to moisturize and turn her granddaughter’s skin back to normal baby skin. She devel- oped a salve to rescue her skin after the bath.
She noticed that while the salve worked wonders, her granddaughter’s skin would

still be dry in the bath. Williams then decided to experiment with soaps so that the dryness could be halted in the bath.
While experimenting, Williams used the products for two years on herself. She also shared with coworkers that complained of various skin ailments. After getting so many requests, she started The Blessed Company.
The name of the company, The Blessed Company, came to her through prayer and her deep faith and guidance from God.
Williams has had her greatest success with word- of-mouth recommendations. She is grateful to her faithful clients who order regularly. She is taking the path of where the Lord leads her on how to grow her business.

One of her biggest fans is Mrs. Lillian Stringer, Di- rector of Public Relations for the Tampa Housing Author- ity, states, “I received her products and the first time I used the salve, my husband Judge Thomas Stringer asked me what I was wearing. The soaps are so good that I don’t have to use lotion. My skin is wonderfully hydrated! Try it and you will love it.”
Williams is very thank- ful to her family.
She moved to Tampa from Atlanta in 2003.
