3 Arrested For Attempted Murder In Drive-By Shooting

Murder Suspect Arrested In Ybor City On Warrant
On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 19- year-old Tyrone Berry of Haines City, 17-year-old Zedarian Outsey, of Haines City, and 18-year-old De- shawn Williams, of Winter Haven, for attempted murder and other charges stemming from a drive-by shooting that occurred near Fern Road and Maggie Circle in unincorpo- rated Winter Haven the same day.
Detectives learned, based off evidence from the scene and witness and victim state- ments, that 22-year-old Kevin Marcel and three oth- ers were in front of a resi- dence in the area when a stolen black Infiniti slowly drove past. According to wit- nesses, the occupants of the car were wearing ski masks.
Soon thereafter, at around 7:50 p.m., the Infiniti re- turned and drove toward the residence again, this time, a passenger began firing a rifle out of the rear passenger side window.
Marcel fired his handgun at the vehicle. The Infiniti fled the scene, side-swiped a parked vehicle and crashed at the intersection of Fern Road and Maggie Circle.
Three suspects in the car fled the crash on foot. All three were apprehended by deputies.
The driver of the stolen car, Deshawn Williams, was transported to a local hospital with two gunshot wounds, one to his right knee and one to his right foot. He had no life-threatening in- juries and was treated, re- leased from the hospital, and later booked into the Polk County Jail.
The back seat passenger, Tyrone Berry, was trans- ported to a local hospital with
a gunshot wound to his hip. He was admitted and is in sta- ble condition.
The front seat passenger, Zedarian Outsey, was un- injured.
Marcel and the other vic- tims at the residence were un- injured.
During the investigation detectives found multiple am- munition casings around the residence and the crashed ve- hicle. It was also learned that the Infiniti was stolen during a carjacking earlier that morning at the Tampa Truck Stop on U. S. Highway 301, in Hillsborough County, where the suspect was wearing a mask. A Smith and Wesson semi-automatic 22 caliber rifle was recovered from the neighborhood detectives be- lieve this was the rifle used by one of the suspects in the stolen Infiniti. The rifle had been reported stolen out of Highlands County.
Berry was charged with 4 counts of attempted first de- gree murder; discharging a firearm in a vehicle; grand theft of a vehicle; grand theft of a firearm; and armed bur- glary of a vehicle.
Outsey was charged with 4 counts of attempted first degree murder; discharg- ing a firearm in a vehicle; grand theft of a vehicle; grand theft of a firearm; and armed burglary of a vehicle.
Williams was charged with 4 counts of attempted first degree murder; discharg- ing a firearm in a vehicle; grand theft of a vehicle (f3); grand theft of a firearm; armed burglary of a vehicle; and violation of probation.
Marcel was arrested for possession of a firearm and was found to have committed a delinquent act as a juvenile that would be a felony if com- mitted by an adult; such a
person cannot possess a firearm while under 24 years of age.
This incident is one in a series of violent events be- tween two gangs, one from the Winter Haven area and the other from the Haines City area.
The incidents, 16 in total, occurred from March to May of 2021 in the Jan Phyl Village area, other Winter Haven areas, and in Haines City.
Police said that on March 28 - shooting incident in Jan Phyl Village, where suspects were wearing masks. No one was injured and no arrests made due to problems identi- fying suspects.
On March 29, the shoot- ing, where a home in the Jan Phyl Village area was tar- geted. No one injured and Deshawn Williams is cur- rently a suspect in this case.
The next day, March 30, there was a shooting incident in the Inwood area. No homes hit and no one was injured.
On April 24, there were two shootings; one occurred in Jan Phyl Village area, where gang associate’s home was targeted. No one was in- jured and no suspects at this time. The second shooting oc- curred in the Cypress Gardens Road area, where witnesses described 3 or 4 black males shooting at a residence. No one was injured.
On May 23, there were also two shootings: Zederian Outsey’s brother, Dyreon Outsey was shot and killed while in his vehicle in Haines City. The Haines City Police Department is investigating the homicide.
The second shooting oc- curred in the Jan Phyl Village area. No homes were hit and no one was injured. Witness stated a red Nissan Altima was possibly involved.
TYQUAVEON ROBINSON ... Charged with first-degree murder
Two men linked to a mur- der in Haines City have been taken into custody. One of the men was arrested on an active warrant by Tampa Police offi- cers.
Tyquaveon Robinson,
19, of Haines City, was ar- rested Monday afternoon while in Ybor City without in- cident. The Tampa Police De- partment charged him with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon.
He is being charged with first-degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, tam- pering with physical evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon by the Haines City Police De- partment.
Last Sunday, 28-year-old Branden Johnson was lo- cated in Miami after he was involved in a traffic accident.
The Miami Beach Police Department charged John- son with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after two firearms were lo- cated inside a rented vehicle during his arrest.
He was charged by the Haines City Police Depart- ment with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied ve-

Through the investigation,
detectives learned that Robinson fatally shot Dyreon Outsey in the area of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way around 1 p.m. on May 23.
Robinson and Johnson are alleged to have been fol- lowing Outsey’s Toyota 4Runner in a red Alfa Romeo that afternoon before firing into the victim’s vehicle. Robinson allegedly fired the fatal shot that struck Outsey in the head. Outsey was transported to Lakeland Re- gional Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead before 3 p.m.
The investigation is ongo- ing. Detectives are looking for any additional information related to the case, including the location of the red Alfa Romeo.
