Popular Gospel Promoter, Radio Announcer Passes

Grady and the Apostles is a well-known gospel group in the Bay Area. They are among many groups who appear on gospel, religious or church programs each week. Al- though based in Clearwater, the group spends an enormous amount of time in Tampa, too.
The founder of the group, Grady Evans, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in a hospital in New Port Richey. He was 81 years old.
Grady Evans, Jr. was born on August 24, 1939 to the union of the late Carrie Bell and Grady Evans, Sr., in the historic city and state of Louisville, Georgia. Grady attended and received a formal edu- cation from the Jefferson County Public School System.
After graduation, he was enlisted in the United States Army. Grady accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. In the latter years of his life, Grady was employed by Youngblood Bus Charter Company as a Char- ter Bus Operator.
In his leisure, Grady enjoyed re-uphol- stering car seating and developed a passion for the guitar.
Grady was the lead singer, lead guitar player and manager of Grady & the Apos- tles Gospel Singers and acquired the name, “Bro. Grady.”
Grady was a longtime radio host of the Original Gospel Explosion Radio Ministry, broadcast on WTAN 1340 AM and 106.1 FM, every Sunday morning. Grady was the sen- ior scouter for Sharp Records located in At- lanta, Georgia. He was a dedicated member and participant in the Tampa Bay Gospel

Grady met the love of his life and long-
time companion, Lillian, in the city of Largo, Florida. The two were wedded in mar- ital bliss on August 18, 1990. She plans to continue the work she has done beside her husband for more than 31 years.
In addition to his wife, Grady is survived by: his children, grandchildren, great grand- children, siblings and other family members.
A Memorial Service for Grady will be held Saturday January 30, 2021 11 AM, with the public viewing on Friday, January 29, 2021.

Lyndon Dallas Retires After 35 Years
LYNDON (SANDY) DALLAS, SR.
Lyndon (Sandy) Dallas, Sr. started 2021 as a retired man. He retired from Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Au- thority (HART) after 35 years.
Mr. Dallas graduated from Tampa Bay Technical High School where he was in the Auto Mechanic Shop and received Honor Student Class of 1982.
He started at HART in August 1985 as a Mechanic 1, and quickly worked up to Mechanic 3, top mechanic level. From there, he was promoted to Supervisor 1, Supervisor 2, and then Lead Supervisor. Mr. Dallas worked as Interim Main- tenance Manager for six months, but decided the politics of that position was not something he wanted to deal with. He retired as Lead Maintenance Supervisor 2.
Mr. Dallas plans on traveling and spending more time with his mother, Juanita Dallas, and his nine grandkids.
