Students Win Awards During Science Fair

Show Benefits Dress For
Success Tampa Bay

The 20th Annual ‘The Bold You’ Fashion Show and Shopping Soiree will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, 6-8 p. m. The event will be held at Dillard’s at Interna- tional Plaza, 2223 N. West- shore Blvd., Tampa. Proceeds from the event (10% of sales) will benefit Dress For Success Tampa Bay. This is a ticketed event.

retired Retail Buyer for Dil- lard’s, has been working with volunteers over the past several weeks prepar- ing for the event that will showcase fashions that will spring into summer.
Ms. Katie McGill, Ex- ecutive Director of Dress For Success Tampa Bay, said this is always an excit- ing time for the non-profit organization. Mrs. Greene is also a Board Member of Dress For Success.

Ms. McGill said, “The
fashion show is a “must at- tend.” When you support Dress for Success, you em- power a woman to be suc- cessful.”
Ms. McGill has spent more than 25 years working for a number of non-profit organizations. She devel- oped the Success Strategies Program for the Centre For Women, a program that provides employment serv- ices to women 18-35 unem- ployed and underemployed.

After volunteering for Dress For Success (the first in Florida and 10th in the nation), the founder and former Executive Director, Pat Ellington asked Ms. McGill to become the Exec- utive Director.
Because of what Dress For Success does in the community to empower women, Ms. McGill is en- couraging the public to come out for an enjoyable evening.

On February 12th, students attending Bible Truth Min- istries Academy participated in the 2018 Science Fair. Three of the four participants won awards.
The middle and high school students participating in the 2018 Hillsborough County STEM (Science, Tech- nology, Engineering and Math) Fair were: Marehsa Thompson, Sarah Jenk- ins, Deborah Dean, She- mara Thompson, and Kayla Pevot.
The elementary students who took part in the event were: Joshua Balloon, Howard Smith, D’Yante Thomas, Paris Newton, Alexia Herds, Jacquan Hamilton, Aidyen Jack- son, and Shila Wilson.
The winners were: Mare- sha Thompson, who was selected as the recipient of the City of Tampa Mayor’s Water Conservation and Drinking Water Award among Middle and High School par- ticipants.

Third Place winner for Botany in the middle school division was Deborah Dean. Shemara Thomp- son also participated and re- ceived a merit award.
Among the 1,335 Elemen- tary entries, Kayla Prevotre- ceived the”Thinking Out of the Box” special award spon- sored by Lakeshore, Inc.
