Rev. Dr. Jeffery Johnson Receives Episcopal Appointment

  The Very Rev. Jeffery Alex James Johnson has received the episcopal designation to the Bishopric. Bishop-Designate Johnson serves as the founding pastor of Connections Commu- nity Church of Lake Wales and Tampa, FL. For the past 20 years of his life he has devoted his pro- fessional and ministerial career to the spiritual and community betterment of every person that he is connected to. He’s occupied the roles of a pastor, leadership coach, author, church planter, academician, and nonprofit ex- ecutive. Not only does he pastor Connections Church, but he pro- vides spiritual coaching to many executives and celebrities around the country.
Bishop-Designate John- son is under the spiritual Lead- ership of Bishop Eric Garnes, who is the primate of Kingdom International Consortium (KIC) and formally the Presiding Bishop of the United Covenant Churches of Christ.
BISHOP-DESIGNATE JEFFERY JOHNSON
Bishop-Designate John- son’s current responsibilities are to shepherd the churches of KIC in the state of Florida, as well as to serve as the Chief Community Relations Officer for the national church. He will help to give guidance to well over 100 churches and ministries.
Academically, Bishop- Des- ignate Johnson holds a Bach- elor of Arts and Master of Ministry degrees from Warner University; a Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy De- gree from Saint Thomas Chris- tian University; and he’s a Doctor of Ministry Candidate enrolled at Anderson University.
Bishop-Designate John- son recently ran for the Hills- borough County School Board, District 7 countywide seat. He serves on leadership boards for Lutheran Services of Florida and a member of the East Tampa CAC.
Professionally, he is the Sen- ior Manager of Neighborhood Initiatives for United Way Sun- coast.
Socially, he’s a member of the Tampa Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, In- corporated. He’s married to Teasia Johnson and the father to Jeffery, Josiah, and Jonah Johnson.
 Shooting Leaves 3 People Injured
   Trump Administration Allows Transition Process To Begin
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is investigating a shoot- ing that left 3 people hurt last weekend. The shooting took place in the 8700 block of Tan- gerine Place.
According to police, a group of women assembled in the 8700 block to take part in a fight. During or immediately after the fight, a 28-year-old man and a 44-year-old man ex- changed gunfire. During the shooting, a woman in her 20s was struck by a bullet. She was treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening injury.
Everyone involved in the fight fled the scene.
The shooting took place in the 8700 block of Tangerine Place.
Moments later, police re- ceived a call that a shooting victim was in the 3300 block of E. Hillsborough Avenue. De-
tectives determined that the victim had been involved in the shooting on Tangerine Place. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
The second person returned to the 8700 block of Tangerine Place, where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury to the leg.
Detectives have identified everyone involved in the case and are continuing their inves- tigation to determine what charges are appropriate.
