WASHINGTON
MR. KEITH JEROME JACKSON
A Servant’s life well- lived.
Funeral services for Mr. Keith Jerome Jackson will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020, 11 a. m., at Bethel M. B. Church, 804 Renfro St., Plant City, FL. Interment to follow at Garden Of Peace Cemetery, Plant City, with Military Honors.
Keith Jerome Jackwson was born in Plant City, FL on De- cember 28, 1960, to the late Johnnie Mae Jackson and Charles Nettles.
He was a graduate of Plant City High School, Class of 1978. He also served in the United States Army for four years.
For 18 years, he was a com- mitted, dedicated and diligent teacher at the same school he at- tended as a youth, and was the recipient of the Ida S. Baker Ed- ucator of the Year Award in 2006.
In 1983, he married Karen Hall, his high school sweet- heart. To this union, 3 children were born: his Princess (Katrice Nichole), Keith, Jr. (deceased), and his “Road Dog,” Korey Robert Charles. K4 is how he would describe his family be- cause when you saw one, you saw all. He was the family histo- rian, photographer, travel plan- ner, and chef. He loved to cook his infamous collard greens, po- tato salad, Nassau grits and pound cake, just to name a few.
He was a loyal Oakland Raider and Earth, Wind and Fire fams. He loved life and af- fectionately demonstrated that to his family and siblings. No one was a stranger to Keith. He loved serving and encouraging those that crossed his path, whether it was on the street, school or church. Keith freely and unselfishly solicited his tal- ent and time for the betterment of the community in which he lived. He would always say, “It’s all about LOVE.”
A dedicated member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, he served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher/Super- intendent, Deacon and a Minis- ter.
In 2014, he accepted the call into the ministry and preached his initial sermon on March 22, 2015. Keith also shared the Word of God with his extended church family, New Covenant Family Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and was always willing to share the “Good News” about his Lord and Sav- ior Jesus Christ anywhere, any- place.
On March 8th, Minister Jack- son preached his final sermon from the hospital bed sur- rounded by his family and loved ones. Romans 10:9-10, and Eph- esians 6:10-16 were the key verses. th
On March 10 , Keith de- parted this life and went home to be with the Lord.
He is preceded in death by: his mother, Johnnie Mae; fa- ther, Charles; son, Keith, Jr.; and nephew, Taurus; grand- mother, Carolyn Jones; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Theola Hall.
He leaves to cherish a life of memories: an adoring wife of 37 years, Karen; 2 devoted chil- dren, Katrice and Korey; special son, Brian Little; his beloved siblings: Robert “Pete” (Debo- rah), Denise Yvonne, Erika Lynn (Gerome) Chris Edward (Chastity) and Sherry Renee; brother-in-law, Willie Jones; 15 loving nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews; and 2 great-great nephews; aunts and uncles, Carolyn Barton, Eu- genia Sales, Rose Jones, Blanche (Comer) Copeland, Topsy Jones, Elizabeth Jones, Alfred Stoudemire, Delores A. Jackson and Maru Helen Starks; special cousin/brother, Harold Jackson; and host of rel- atives, friends, colleagues and students.
We are much richer today because Keith walked among us. So let us not grieve as others who do not have hope. We say not good-bye, but see you later.
The visitation will be held at Bethel M. B. Church on Friday, March 20, 2020, from 5 to 7 p. m. The family will receive friends during this time; no more than 16 at a time, please, due to the pandemic conditions. Thank you for your considera- tion, the family and Washington Funeral Home.
