One Arrested, One Wanted For Attempted Murder
One man has been charged and police are searching for another in an attempted murder case. The incident took place last year.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Office, around 2 a.m., on October 22, 2017, two men entered the home at 5507 Baptist Church Road. The men held eight people at gunpoint while they al- legedly committed an armed robbery.
During the robbery, one of the suspects fired a shot from his rifle, striking one of the victims in his head. The unidentified victim suffered life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled

The investigation led detectives to Reginald Brown, 25, of Springhill, and Darren “Fatboy” Gipson, 29, of Tampa.

on January 31, 2018, and charged with attempted felony murder, armed bur- glary of a dwelling, and grand theft. He also had warrants out for his arrest for resisting an officer without violence, posses-
sion of marijuana, and possession of drug para- phernalia. He is currently being held at the Hillsbor- ough County Jail without bond.
Detectives are search- ing for Darren “Fatboy” Gipson. Gipson is de- scribed as being 5’8” and weighing 175 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, a tattoo on his right hand that says “Drak” and a tat- too on his left hand that says “Boy.”
He is wanted for at- tempted felony murder,
armed burglary of a resi- dence, and grand theft.
Police said Gipson is a member of the Drak Gang, and has an extensive crim- inal record. He was re- leased from prison on October 2nd, less than 3 weeks before the crime took place.
