Two Tryout Players Earn Roster Spots
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie mini-camp uncovered two hidden small-school gems, Southeastern CB Mark Myers and Indianapolis G Ruben Holcomb, who were signed to the 90-man roster Sunday.

Tony Dungy to Join Buccaneers Ring of Honor
Southeastern cornerback Mark Myers is one step closer to becoming the first NFL player ever produced by his college.
Myers was one of nearly 30 players, mostly undrafted rookies, who participated in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' rookie mini-camp this week- end on tryout contracts. At the conclusion of the camp, the Buccaneers signed a pair of those tryout prospects to their 90-man offseason ros- ter, both from decidedly small football programs: Myers and University of Indianapo- lis guard Ruben Holcomb. They will stay in Tampa for the remainder of the team's offseason workout program and presumably join the team
for training camp later in the summer.
The Buccaneers started the weekend with a full roster, which means those two addi- tions had to be balanced by some releases. Tampa Bay ac- tually waived three players: safety Josh Liddell, wide re- ceiver Devin Lucien and linebacker Antonio Sim- mons. Liddell and Sim- mons were both undrafted rookies signed by the Bucca- neers two weeks ago; Lucien joined the team's practice squad in late December and then was signed to a 2018 contract in January. The com- bination of moves on Sunday leaves the Buccaneers with one open spot on the offsea- son roster.
DEMARCUS WARE
The Denver Broncos are looking at ways to improve their offseason program, and that includes bringing in some well-known part-time coaches.
The Broncos have spoken with former linebacker De- Marcus Ware about a part- time offseason coaching role. They have done the same with other former players.
Ware would likely spend a few days with players during offseason workouts. The belief is that Ware’s presence would be particularly valuable to rookie Bradley Chubb, who has been compared to Ware in terms of position and skillset.
Former Seahawks, Rams, Bills Coach Chuck Knox Dies
CHUCK KNOX
Chuck Knox, who has the second-most victories of any coach in Seattle Seahawks his- tory and who also coached the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills, died at age 86 after suf- fering from dementia.
The Seahawks on Sunday confirmed the news of Knox's death.
Nicknamed "Ground Chuck" for his teams' run-first offenses, Knox went 80-63 during the regular season over nine years as Seattle's coach. His debut season with the Sea- hawks in 1983 was highlighted by the first playoff appearance in franchise history; Seattle ad- vanced to the AFC Champi- onship Game against the Raiders with a road upset of Dan Marino's Miami Dol- phins in the divisional round.
Knox is the only head coach in the Seahawks' Ring of Honor, having been inducted in 2005. His 80 victories with Seattle are second to Mike Holmgren's 86. Pete Car- roll is third with 79.
Hall Of Fame coach Tony Dungy, who made an impact on the franchise, will be inducted into the Ring of Honor at Ray- mond James Stadium on Sept. 24 during a Monday Night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

For Part-Time
Tony Dungy was the first coach to lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers onto their new home field at Raymond James Stadium.
Now Dungy's name will be added to that stadium's façade for all future Bucca- neers and fans to see, and to remember the role he played in achieving a remarkable franchise turnaround.
On September 24th, Dungy will be inducted into the Buccaneers' Ring of Honor at Raymond James Stadium. The honor will come via a halftime cere- mony during the Buccaneers Week Three Monday Night

TIGER WOODS
Greg Hardy To Face
Superstar golfer Tiger Woods left a lot of money, world-ranking points, FedEx points and his Bridgestone golf ball at the bottom of the water in front of the 17th green on Sunday.
You would hardly know it based on his positive reaction after he tied for 11th at the Players Championship, shooting a final-round 69 after earlier being in a tie for second place behind eventual winner Webb Simpson.
"I really played really good today. I hit it so good," Woods said after shooting rounds of 72-71-65-69. "I had control of it from tee to green. I made some putts. I felt good on basically every facet of the game, and it's weird -- not to really mishit a shot today and only shoot 3 under par is just weird ... be- cause I played much better than that."
Woods began the day tied for eighth, 11 strokes be- hind Simpson. By the time Woods teed off, he had dropped to a tie for 17th.
He steadily climbed the leaderboard with birdies at the second, third, fourth and ninth holes. He added birdies at the 11th and 12th and was 6 under par for his round. At that point, he had closed to within four strokes of Simp- son and was tied for second at 14 under par.
But like Saturday, when he was 8 under through 12 holes, the round stalled at the par-4 14th and this time was compounded by a tee shot into the water at the par-3 17th.
In both cases, Woods hit a sand wedge approach, but he said he did not misplay ei- ther shot.
"No. 14, it's blowing downwind, and it's off the left, and [the pin] is on top of that crown, and I thought it [the ball] was going to skip," Woods said of the shot from 110 yards. "I thought I was going to have a hard time keeping it up top, and I spun it off the ridge. Left it short and hit a good putt. Just did- n't go in."
Fellow Ex-NFL Player
In Pro MMA Debut
Greg Hardy is training to make his professional mixed martial arts debut next month, and he and his first opponent have quite a bit in common.
During the UFC 224 broadcast over the weekend, it was announced that Hardy will face former NFL defensive end Austin Lane on the Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series. The heavyweight bout will take place on June 12.
Lane played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears in five NFL seasons from 2010- 2014. He is 4-0 in his profes- sional MMA career.
“At the end of the day, when we go in the cage, we’re just going to be two fighters,”
GREG HARDY
Lane said. “Obviously we’ll both have some athleticism that has carried over from the NFL, but I don’t consider him former NFL player Greg Hardy, I consider him MMA fighter Greg Hardy and that’s how I’m going to approach what he’s bringing to the table.”
