BEAUTY UNLIMITED
MILA
This time of year, things heat up real quick, and you can defi- nitely say that about this week’s Beauty Unlimited feature, Mila. This young lady is definitely the one you would want to spend a quiet evening on the beach with, or just sitting across the table and exchanging glares. Mila has an enormous amount of energy, and if you can’t keep up with her, make sure to get out of her way. Mila promises that her success will get the attention of a lot of people, and give her an opportunity to reach back to those who helped her along the way. Congratulations to Mila as this week’s Beauty Un- limited feature.
LeBron James has been playing some outstanding bas- ketball during the postseason, but Sunday’s Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals was a completely different story.
James’ Cleveland Cavaliers got smacked from the start by the Boston Celtics. They trailed 36-18 after the first quarter, were down by 26 at the half, and lost Game 1 108-83.
James was 5-for-16 shoot- ing. He missed all five of his three-pointers and turned the ball over seven times in 36 min- utes. His plus-minus was an atrocious -32.
LeBron’s -32 plus-minus was tied for the worst of his playoff career. The 25-point loss was the second-worst Game 1 playoff loss by a Le- Bron James team in his play- off career.
Cavs' George Hill Misses Practice To Receive IUPUI Diploma
GEORGE HILL
George Hill has gone from point guard to grad in the NBA playoffs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers guard missed practice Saturday and had a good excuse for his absence: He graduated from college.
Hill received his diploma from IUPUI and took part in commencement ceremonies in Indianapolis while his team- mates got in one last workout before heading to Boston for Game 1 of the Eastern Confer- ence finals.
The 32-year-old Hill, who played for the Jaguars from 2004 to '08, received his degree from the School of Liberal Arts. He was one of two student speakers to address the new graduates.
Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey was voted by his peers as the NBA’s coach of the year two days ago. He received this award for coaching his team to a 59-23 record and the top seed in the Eastern Confer- ence.
Casey just lost his job. This is because LeBron James exists, and happens to play basketball in the east.
Clearly the Raptors are tired of being humiliated by LeBron James in the play- offs every year, and this is some attempt to “shake things up” in order to prevent that from happening once again in the future. But what good is this really going to do?
Casey’s big failure as a
head coach has been his in- ability to beat James in the playoffs, but that’s a weakness that virtually every other coach and team in the league possesses. Is there some available coach out there who has a secret plan for making James less good at basket- ball? If so, the Raptors should definitely hire that guy. If not, they probably should have just kept the guy who has con- sistently won a lot of games for them!
Casey will probably get another NBA gig, either this summer or next. Until he does, he’ll likely be spending a lot of time in silent contem- plation of how different his life would be if LeBron James never existed at all.
Matt Barnes Rips Tristan
Thompson Over Alleged Comments
On NBA Groupie Culture
Tistan Thompson has earned the ire of one of his for- mer NBA adversaries.
A recent report in Us Weekly claimed that Thomp- son, who was embroiled last month in a cheating scandal on girlfriend Khloe Kar- dashian, tried to explain to Kardashian that he felt pres- sured not to turn down all the women throwing themselves at him. This was due to the “un- spoken rule in the NBA that players hook up with groupies on the road,” Thompson sup- posedly reasoned.
On Friday, retired longtime NBA swingman Matt Barnes posted a screenshot of the re- port on Instagram and tore into Thompson with a vulgar caption.
“I’ve been hearing this a lot this last couple days,” Barnes wrote in the post. “‘IF’ dude re- ally said this......?? This is
MATT BARNES AND TRISTAN THOMPSON
sucka s— straight up!! If no one else will say it! You f—ed up take it on the chin dawg.. Don’t try & throw everyone else under the bus! #Who- RaisedTheseN—-s”
The cheating scandal defi- nitely caused quite an uproar when it first broke last month. But now that Thompson al- legedly tried to point a finger at the greater culture of the NBA in order to justify his actions, it’s not too surprising that he was called out by Barnes, a player who was always known for keeping it real.
