Suspects Sought In $530 Theft Of Baby Formula
Police Investigate Sexual Misconduct Allegation
Law enforcement is cur- rently investigating allegations of sexual misconduct at a high school. The incident report- edly took place at Plant City High School, in Plant City.
The investigation is being conducted by the Plant City Police Department, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Information regarding the complaint was limited. How- ever, police said the incident concerns misconduct by one of the coaches associated with wrestling and track. The unidentified coach has been dismissed from the position. No other information was available at press time.
Teenage Bicyclist Struck Crossing Street
Police are searching for two women in connection with a theft. The offense took place at the Publix, 4854 Sun City Center.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, on May 9th, shortly after 7 p.m., two women entered the store. They selected several cans of Enfamil and Similac baby formula in the powder form.
The women then fled the store with the formula. It was valued at $530.81.

Unidentified Driver Killed In Accident
A 13-year-old was struck by a vehicle Friday as he at- tempted to cross Countryway Blvd., at Race Track Road.
Police said a vehicle was waiting to make a right hand turn. As the vehicle began to turn, the unidentified
teenager entered into its path crossing during a “Do Not Cross” pedestrian signal. The child was knocked to the ground and received minor injuries.
No charges were filed in the accident.
An unidentified driver was killed early Monday in an accident at Bruce B. Downs Blvd., and University Square Drive. The accident took place at 5:30 a.m.
According to police, the
man’s vehicle was initially in- volved in a traffic accident with another vehicle. He ex- ited his vehicle and was walk- ing around when he was struck by another vehicle. He died at the scene.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects in this case.
Library Volunteer Charged With Molesting 14-Year-Old
Man Dies
Police arrested a 19-year- old Library volunteer last week. He was charged with lewd and lascivious acts on a minor.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the boy told police that Austin West pulled his pants down while at the library Wednes- day night. He also said he was afraid and felt pressured. West also offered to perform oral sex on the boy, however the boy declined.
Police said the act was committed in the presence of 4 other boys who gave state- ments supporting the vic- tim’s story.
West was arrested on Thursday.

Deputy Involved In Traffic Accident
A 21-year-old Riverview man died Friday night after being involved in an accident. The accident took place on I- 75 at the 252.5 mile marker.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Ever Noe Chavez Romero was driving a 2009 Mazda northbound on I-75, at a high rate of speed. As he approached the 252.5 mile marker, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. It ro- tated and collided with a pole.
Romero was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Pinellas County Deputy was involved in an accident Sunday afternoon. The acci- dent took place on 49th Street North at 118th Avenue, in Pinellas Park.
According to police, Je- remy Whitney, 47, was driving his 2017 Toyota Tacoma southbound on 49th Street North approaching 118th Avenue. Deputy Wyeth Whitehurst was driving his marked patrol car westbound on 118th Avenue
with his lights and siren acti- vated. Deputy Whitehurst was en route to an emergency call for service. As he entered the intersection, Whitney’s vehicle struck the passenger side of the deputy’s vehicle.
Deputy Whitehurst was not injured. Whitney was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released. Whit- ney was also cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehi- cle.

In Single Car
Accident
The Florida Highway Pa- trol is investigating a single car accident that took place early Friday. One person died in the accident.
According to investiga- tors, 37-year-old Gustavo Martinez-Meza, of Bran- don, was driving a 1996 Toy- ota Avalon on State Road 574 east of Sydney Dover Road. For unexplained reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and collided with the guardrail. It then continued and struck a utility pole before stopping. Martinez-Meza was the only person in the vehicle. He died at the scene.
