  University Area CDC To Honor Mothers On May 18th
 Faculty Member Returns To WMU-Cooley Law School
 WMU-Cooley Law School Tampa Bay campus Associ- ate Dean Ron Sutton has announced the return of At- torney Florise Neville- Ewell to the law school’s faculty ranks. Neville- Ewell will teach Property Law at the Tampa campus.
Atty. Neville-Ewell, a Yale College and Yale Law School graduate, started her career as a law clerk with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Since then, she has worked in the public and private sectors and acade- mia.
A native of Chicago, she returned to that city after the clerkship to work as an asso- ciate at the law firm of Sidley and Austin. She returned to Michigan to work as an asso- ciate at Honigman Miller and later joined the faculty at Wayne State Law School. She

previously held a position of tenured faculty at WMU- Cooley’s Auburn Hills cam- pus and most recently worked as general counsel for the Detroit Housing Com- mission and chief of con- tracts for the city of Detroit.
Throughout her career, Atty. Neville-Ewell pub- lished articles about real es-
tate issues for the public. The former Charter One Bank published her “advice” columns and articles monthly in the Michigan Chronicle, a local Detroit newspaper.
In conjunction with being the founder of the Ten Com- mandments of Real Estate Law Society (10CORE® Law Society), a 501(c)(3) organi- zation dedicated to educating the public on property law is- sues through outreach, she remains dedicated to provid- ing substantive town hall meetings for the public with law students and volunteer lawyers. The 10CORE® Law Society has provided out- reach in Michigan, Florida, Georgia and Maryland. It is in the process of expanding nationally to bridge the gap between the public and pro- viding “access to justice through legal literacy.”
     The University Area Com- munity Development Corpo- ration (University Area CDC) will be hosting a Free ‘Just for Moms’ event, and Movie Night for children and fami- lies.
The event will be held on Friday, May 18, 6 to 8 p. m., in the University Area Com- munity Center, 14013 N. 22nd St., Tampa, 33613.
Mothers residing in neighborhoods with zip codes 33612 and 33613 are invited for a free evening of celebration as they will be treated to dinner, make-up, prizes and motivational speakers.
Also, in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the University Area CDC will present a free screening of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out for children and
families simultaneously. Drinks and popcorn will be provided free of charge to movie goers; additional food will be available for purchase.
Children and youth are in- vited to watch the film while their mothers are celebrated elsewhere in the building.
The University Area CDC Free Family Movie Night is a family-oriented event de- signed to provide a fun and safe activity for University Area residents, and at the same time inform them of the many services and program- ming from which they can benefit at the University Area CDC. Prizes will also be given away. Those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
