WILSON
MR. HARRY T. ‘HANDSOME’ MORRIS, SR.
A Life Celebration for Mr. Harry T. Morris, Sr. who went home to his Savior on June 27, 2018, will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11 a. m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1203 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, Florida, with Father Hugh Chikawe, officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the church. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bush- nell.
Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his siblings, L. C., Vasco, Lamb, George, and William; two sisters, Corine and Helen and a devoted nephew, Ralph Cum- mings.
Harry leaves memories with: Lucille, his wife of sixty years; two sons, Harry Morris, Jr. (Debra) and Michael Morris; granddaughter, Amanda Sim- mons (Henry); one grandson, Darrin Morris (Melani); four great grandchildren, Ayonna, Aja, Amare and Maelyn; a special goddaughter, Pamela D. Stone; special family friends, Alice Johns and family; brother-in- law, Rev. Charles E. Ray (Annie) and family; sister-in-law, Ann Mitchell (Rev. James Mitchell) and family; extended family, George Niblack and family; Betty Drummer and family; the entire Morris family, the entire Payne family, Mr. and Mrs. David Bryant and family, many, many nieces and nephews and truly great friends.
“Handsome” Harry Morris, Sr. was born on January 17, 1927 in Clearwater, Florida to the late Mr. and Mrs. Virgil (Ozella Han- kerson). His first formal educa- tion began at St. Peter Claver Catholic School. After complet- ing eighth grade, he attended Booker T. Washington Junior High School and Middleton Sen- ior High School. He later contin- ued his education in 1945 at Don Thompson Vocational Technical School (now Howard W. Blake High School).
Mr. Morris furthered his edu- cation at Bethune-Cookman Col- lege. Harry joined the United States Army in 1948 and served honorably for four years.
There will be a viewing on Monday, July 2, 2018, from 5–8 p. m. with family present to re- ceive friends from 6-7 p. m.

           Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice are asking for information about several thefts that have taken place within new subdi- vision, in southern Hillsbor-
ough County under construc- tion.
The suspects are entering homes and stealing the new appliances.
During the month of May, 62 new appliances were taken, along with lumber, copper and other miscellaneous items. Detectives have seen a signifi- cant increase in construction thefts in nearly all new subdi- visions from the Fish Hawk and Riverview area down the Big Bend corridor to Apollo Breach and Ruskin.
In April, there were 21 re- ported incidents, which then spiked to 48 in May. So far this year within the District IV boundaries alone, a total of 132 construction related thefts were reported to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office.
The documented loss to victims is over $119,000.
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspect(s) involved in these cases.
