Jameis Winston Summons The Wisdom Of Yoda To Explain Parenting

Mike Evans Feels 'Blessed' To Do What He Does
MIKE EVANS
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans had himself another historic season. The franchise’s all- time leader in receiving yards had his sixth-straight 1,000- yard receiving season, which made him the only player in NFL history besides Randy Moss to start their career that way.
Evans played in just 13 games this past season before being sidelined with a ham- string injury he suffered in Week 14 against the Indi- anapolis Colts. He collected 67 receptions for 1,157 yards and eight touchdowns, earn- ing himself another Pro Bowl selection.
And, with the emergence of third-year receiver Chris Godwin, Evans could find himself putting up even big- ger numbers in 2017. Tampa Bay, which hasn’t made the postseason since 2007, has their sights set on the playoffs in 2020 after a strong finish to last season.
As Evans prepares for an- other grueling offseason, he took some time to post a video and caption on Instagram, thanking fans for the love and saying he feels blessed to do what he does.
Cowboys Want To
     Avoid Franchise Tag
With Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott appears to be destined for the franchise tag with a long-term exten- sion still not in place for the star quarterback, but the Dal- las Cowboys remain hopeful that the situation will not get to that point.
Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones said again recently that the team is working hard to sign Prescott to a new deal, and Dallas still report- edly wants to reach an agree- ment before the March 10

deadline to use the franchise tag.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Win- ston is eagerly awaiting to learn his fate with the fran- chise that selected him first overall in 2015.
After five seasons and zero playoff appearances, the Bucs can part ways with Winston this offseason if they decide it is time to move on. But even though Win- ston threw 30 interceptions last season, he did become just the eighth quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 5,000 yards.
Several former NFL quar- terbacks, including former
Bruce Arians pupil Car- son Palmer, have advo- cated for Winston’s return, saying he could have a mas- sive Year 2 in Arians’ sys- tem.
While the stress of the unknown may be getting to the quarterback at times, he’s fortunate enough to have an- other, more important, full- time job to keep him distracted: being a dad.
And, as Winston’s latest post on his Instagram story hilariously shows, parenting is always full of questions... especially when it comes to babies sitting on dogs.
Have Made No Progress
Tom Brady, Patriots
In Contract Talks
The New England Patriots would like to sign Tom Brady to a new contract be- fore the start of free agency if the quarterback is planning to return, but the two sides apparently have not sat down at the negotiating table yet.
Brady and the Patriots have not yet engaged in con- tract talks, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports. However, Reiss notes that the lack of negotiations is consistent with the typical flow of an off- season for an NFL team, as coaches are typically scouting college players and preparing for the NFL Scouting Com- bine at this time of year.
Brady said after the sea-

son that there have been open lines of communication be- tween him and the Patriots, which likely means he has spoken with Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft, or both. Even if no numbers have been dis- cussed, that is a positive sign.
Satchel Paige became the oldest rookie to play Major League Baseball at the age of 42. He contin- ued to play until he was 47- years-old.
