WASHINGTON
MRS. VERA LEE MCNEAL
Mrs. Vera Lee McNeal, 71, of Clark County (Shubuta), Mis- sissippi, peacefully passed away in her sleep on February 9, 2020, after a long and valiant fight against breast cancer. She was born to the late Mae Ethel Bounds and her beloved father, the late Billy Shanks, on May 19, 1948, in Clark County, Missis- sippi.
Vera relocated to Dover, Delaware in 1968, and later moved to Albany, NY in 1969, where she met her husband, Harold McNeal, of Plant City, FL.
She is survived by: her two sons, Daniel and Damon Mc- Neal; daughter-in-law, Robin McNeal; and her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Christo- pher, Laila and Naveen. She is also survived by her brothers, Billy Joe and Willie Ray; sis- ters, Jean, Ora Mae, Elmarie, Maggieline and Phyllis; broth- ers-and-sisters-in-law, Rodney, Richard, Gregory, Gary, San- dra, Sharon, Brenda, Linda and Graciela; special cousins, Helen D. Faison, Carolyn Burton (Joseph), Carol McClendon (Jimmy), Melvin Goodman (Georgeanne), Jimmy Good- man, Joe Dixon (Felicia); and like a daughter, Sharon Faison- Hampton; a host of nieces and nephews; her sister friends, Betty Pittman, Carolyn Williams and Annie Fitzgerald were her “sisters in spirit,” and she loved them as much as her own family.
Vera’s career spanned from Albany Memorial and St. Peter’s Hospitals, before retir- ing in 1990. She later became a home aide, offering services, care and companionship to those who were battling termi- nal illnesses. She remained a noble servant of the Father, the Holy Ghost and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, until the day of her expiration.
Her wonderful life, spirit, and legacy will be celebrated through all that she ever touched.
Funeral Services will be Sat- urday, February 15, 2020, 2:30 p. m., at Bethel M. B. Church, 804 W. Renfro St., Plant City, FL 33563.

MR. JOSEPH CROMPTON, III
Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Joseph Crompton, III, will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 11 a. m. at Bay Area Church of Christ, 3905 Orange Street, Mango, Florida, Minister Tim Stutzman, Elder Willie Davis, officiating and Minister Aurelio Henlon, eulogist. En- tombment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Mr. Joseph Crompton, III, was born on October 18, 1977 in Tampa, Florida to the parentage of Joseph Crompton, Jr. and Verlyn B. Crompton. He was a resident of Plant City, Florida for many years.
Mr. Crompton was educated in the Hillsborough County School System, and was a gradu- ate of Plant City High School; and he attended Hillsborough Community College. He was an employee with the Hillsborough County Sheriff Office as a Com- munity Service Aide. Joseph was an avid Tampa Bay Bucca- neers fan.
On Wednesday February 5, 2020, Mr. Joseph Crompton, III, went home to his Heavenly Fa- ther.

Friends are asked to assem- ble at the church on Saturday at approximately 10:45 a. m. for the service.

       DEACONESS NARICE SIMMONS
Deaconess Narice Simmons heard the call to be with the Lord on Friday, February 7, 2020, at South Florida Baptist Hospital, Plant City, FL.
She was born on June 5, 1930, in Plant City, FL to the late Henry Ruth, Sr. and Ophelia Drinks Ruth. They moved to Lyons, Georgia. Sis. Simmons was converted at an eaarly age.
On the 17th day of July, 1955, she married the late Deacon Hardy Simmons. The union was blessed with 8 children. One pre- ceded her in death.
After returning to Plant City, she joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She became ac- tive in singing in various choirs at Bethel. Also, being a Dea- coness, she served diligently, even when she wasn’t feeling her best.
She truly loved her children. They were her joy and she was al- ways glad to see them anytime. We will miss her dearly.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four sons, James D. Harris, Jr. (Amelia), Pastor Nor- man G. Simmons (Sandra), Hardy Gerome Simmons, Jr. (Erika Lynn), Harvey Leon Sim- mons, Sr. (Quanjeana); three daughters, Patricia A. Walton (Charles), Evelyn Ophelia Stephens and Juanita Graham; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Holmes; one sister-in-law, Roberta Ruth; 38 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 31 great- great grands; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended fam- ily, Pastor and Sister Leroy Vann, Sr., Pastor and Sister E. L. Wiseman and the Bethel family.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 15, 2020, 11 a. m. at Bethel M. B. Church, 804 W. Renfro St., Plant City, FL. Viewing will be at 10 a. m., one hour prior to the service.

MRS. JACQUELINE DAVIS KING
Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Jacqueline Davis-King who went to her Heavenly Home on February 6, 2020, will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 a. m., at Thirty-Fourth Street Church of God, 3000 N. 34th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Bishop Thomas Scott, Senior Pas- tor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Av- enue, Tampa, Florida.
Mrs. Jacqueline Davis-King, affectionately known as “Jackie,” was born to Emmitt and Rosa Davis on July 2, 1951, in Tampa, Florida. She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate from Middle- ton Sr. High School, Class of 1970. Mrs. King was a member of the Middleton Dancing Tigerettes. She enjoyed dancing, helping oth- ers, wearing the latest fashions and high heels.
Jacqueline was employed with GTE and retired after 20 plus years of service. Jacqueline was united in holy matrimony to Michael E. King, Sr. for 28 years. She truly loved and cherished Mike dearly. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin and friend to all who she encoun- tered.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Emmitt Davis.
Mrs. Jacqueline Davis-King leaves to cherish her fondest memories with: her husband, Michael E. King, Sr.; children, Xavia (Theodore) Fulton, Reme- sia (Ken Andre) King-Telfair, both of Tampa, Florida, Michael (Ca- landra) King, Jr., of Jacksonville, Florida, and Manika King of Tampa; grandchildren, Chenault, Dominique, Michael, III, Fendi, Jarron, Miesia (who she raised), Amia, TheoDior; great grandchil- dren, Rhaland, Jr., XzayDhen; mother, Rosa Davis; siblings, Michael (Betty) Jordan of Tampa, Emmitt Davis of Ontario, Califor- nia and Gwendolyn Davis of Tampa; special niece, Zabora Davis (who she raised); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in- cluding a very special cousin, Mel- phie Goodwin; friends, including a special friend that she consid- ered as her daughter, Sharlethia Andrews; a host of other sorrow- ing relatives and friends.
Her remains will repose on Friday, February 14, 2020, from 5 – 7 p. m. at Thirty-Fourth Street Church of God, with the family present to receive friends. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at approx- imately 10:45 a. m. for the service.
