Mr. Charlie English, Jr., also known as “Good Wrench,” was born on April 11, 1950 in Sumter, South Carolina to the parentage of Mr. Charlie English, Sr. and Mrs. AnnaBelle Carroll English. He was the first-born son for the couple.
The English family moved to Winter Park, Florida, where Charlie attended schools in Or- ange County. While in Winter Park, Charlie accepted Christ and was baptized at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the leader- ship of Rev. Williams.
The English family moved again to Tampa, Florida and Charlie united himself with the Macedonia M. B. Church under the leadership of Rev. E. Gorden. He sang in the Young Adult Choir.
In 1968, Charlie graduated from Middleton High School in Tampa, Florida and attended Florida A&M University in Talla- hassee, Florida. As Charlie’s life continued to thrive, he met the love of his life, Patricia Flowers. God blessed this union with 35 years of marital bliss.
Charlie never met a “stranger.” He served his coun- try in the United States Army 229th Aviation Battalia Assault Helicopters from 1970 until he was honorably discharged in 1974.
Afterwards he found employ-
ment with Thatcher Glass Com- pany and retired after 13 loyal years of service. Auto mechanics was one of his passions. He also enjoyed watching football and Westerns on television. Every holiday you could find Charlie on the grill. He was an excellent chef and cookout champion.
God saw he was getting tired, so on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 12 noon, he transitioned home to the Lord peacefully with his caring wife, Patricia at his bedside.
