Detectives are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place Tuesday evening. The shooting took place in the 3000 block of N. Nebraska Avenue.

Worker Charged With Sexual Battery On Hospital Patient
   Victim Dies
A 17-year-old high school student was arrested and charged after having a gun in his possession. The gun was loaded at the time it was dis- covered around 10:30 a.m., Wednesday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, a teacher at Armwood High School detected the odor of marijuana on 17-year-iold Ziare Lloyd. The teacher no- tified school administrators to conduct a search of his back- pack.
During the search, they discovered a loaded M & P firearm with one round in the chamber. A full magazine was also discovered, along with a scale. However, no marijuana was found.
Police determined that the gun belonged to his parents and they were unaware that he had taken it to school.
Lloyd was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on school property and carrying a concealed firearm.
Two schools were placed on lockdown after a report was received about a gun on campus.
The unidentified caller made the 9-1-1 call at ap- proximately 2:14 p.m., Wednesday. The male caller told the dispatcher that he was in the bathroom at Barrington Middle School and his friend had a gun.
The dispatcher attempted to obtain more information, but the caller hung up. The school was notified and Bar- rington Middle School, along with Stowers Elementary School were placed on lock- down.
Police activated the Avia- tion and K-9 Units, along with deputies who arrived on campus 4 minutes after the call was received. A thorough
search was conducted, but no weapon was found on the campus.
Detectives said the phone number used to make the call appeared to be a spoofed number. However, detectives are attempting to track it down.

said, “We are fortunate that this turned out to be a false alarm. No one was ever in danger. But regardless of how fake this threat was, it felt just as real to the stu- dents, parents, and staff who were frightened and trauma- tized by the incident.”

The charge against a for- mer Department of Children and Families employee has been upgraded to a first-de- gree felony. She is accused of hitting a 14-year-old girl and fleeing the scene.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place around 7:15 p.m., on January 30th. The victim and friends were walking toward 122nd Avenue on N. 15th Street. The victim stepped into the path of a small, dark colored SUV.
The woman driving the vehicle stopped and got out of the car after the crash. She checked around her car, walked towards the victim, then got back inside and drove away.
Police said she did not at- tempt to render any aid to the injured victim. The unidentified 14-year-old vic- tim was transported to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition suffering severe head trauma. She died on February 4th.
Detectives launched their investigation, located the ve- hicle using HCSO’s Eye on Crime camera in the area.

They identified the driver as Ms. Nakeeba Ryan, 24, of Tampa. During an interview on Friday morning, Ms. Ryan was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involv- ing serious bodily injury. The charge has been elevated to leaving the scene of an acci- dent involving death, which is a first-degree felony.
Police further stated that at the time of the accident, Ms. Ryan was employed as a Department of Children and Families employee. She was fired from her job as well.

A 30-year-old employee of a local hospital was ar- rested Monday night and charged with sexual battery. His victim was a 75-year-old woman.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice, a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital South, 6901 Sim- mons Loop, in Riverview, re- sponded to an alarm in the patient’s room. The nurse went to monitor the live feed camera inside the room, and

detectives attempted to in- terview Jackson, who was employed as a Physical Ther- apist at the hospital, but he refused to make a statement. He was arrested and charged with sexual battery.
Jackson was trans- ported to the Orient Road Jail, where he was booked. His bond has been set at $250,000.
