Man Released On Bond Caught In Undercover Sting
Police Attempt To Identify Violent Robbery Suspects
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who committed a violent robbery. The offense took place Sun- day behind Stone Soup, at 1919 E. 7th Avenue.
According to police, Dustin Lee Lowe, 24, was at the back door of the busi- ness when he approached an unidentified man who ex- changed words with him. The man then reportedly punched Lowe. Police said a total of four suspects were involved in the attack.
While Lowe lay uncon- scious on the ground, the men went through his pock- ets and robbed him. Lowe suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospi- tal.

Gun Charge Lands Convicted Felon In Prison
Man Who Sold Guns To Undercover Officers Pleads Guilty
On Monday, a Tampa man pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is facing up to life in prison.
A sentencing date has not been set in the case of Michael O’Neal Johnson, Jr., 28, of Tampa.
According to the plea agreement, during a period that spanned several months, Johnson sold six firearms to undercover agents. One of the guns he sold was a Russian model SKS, 7.62 x 39 caliber rifle. Officials said he contin- ued to sell the guns even after he was told the guns would be resold illegally in New York

and other markets through- out the country.
CALVIN BUTLER
A 34-year-old man has been sentenced to prison for having a gun in his posses- sion. He pleaded guilty to the charge on April 24, 2017.
U. S. District Judge James D. Whittemore sentenced Rorn Sorn, of St. Peters- burg, to 6 years and 5 months in prison.
According to court docu- ments, on December 17, 2016, Sorn and another man en- tered Club Lust in St. Peters- burg, and went to the bathroom. A few minutes later, a security guard heard a gunshot coming from the bathroom. The guard ob- served Sorn and the other man as they left the bath- room.
The guard reportedly asked the men if they had fired a gun. Sorn replied, “It was an accident, man. I was just trying to take a selfie.” Employees at the club found a bullet hole in the bathroom mirror that went through the wall and into the ladies bath- room.

A short time later, St. Pe- tersburg police arrested Sorn. While searching him, police found a .40 caliber firearm, a gun magazine, marijuana, and Xanax pills in his pockets. Sorn is a mem- ber of the Asian Pride Gang, and has been convicted of burglary and attempted first- degree murder. He cannot have a gun in his possession.
In April of this year, the Sarasota Police Department arrested 45-year-old Calvin Butler, of Bradenton. He was charged with several crimes related to drugs. He also had $10,370 in his possession at the time of his arrest.
Butler was charged with trafficking in hydromorphone, possession of cocaine with in- tent to sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a park, posses- sion of a controlled substance with intent to sell or deliver, possession of a controlled sub- stance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Butler was later released on bond. Between July 6, 2017 and July 26, 2017, Butler al- legedly conducted four (4) separate narcotics transac- tions with undercover Sara- sota Police officers. Four warrants were issued for his arrest in connection with the transactions.
Butler was arrested again on August 11th in his car. Dur- ing the search, officers found various prescription bottles with numerous controlled substances, baggies of cocaine more than $1,800, and two bags of hypodermic needles.
When his residence was searched following his arrest, police found syringes, a digital scale and several controlled substances.
New charges filed against Butler include trafficking in hydromorphone, trafficking in oxycodone, possession of co- caine with the intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of methadone with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school, 2 counts of posses- sion of a controlled substance, delivery of drug parapherna- lia, and obstruction.

Warrant Issued For Rapper In Attack On Barber
The Winter Haven Police Department has issued a war- rant for the arrest of a rapper. He is accused of attacking a man and beating him last month.
On July 28th, at approxi- mately 8:30 p.m., Jon Erik Baez-Molano, 30, was at- tacked by two Hispanic men and a third Hispanic man recorded the incident.
Baez-Molano, who is a barber, was caught as he left his business and headed for his vehicle. The men beat him with a metallic baton and pieces of wood.
After the beating, the men went into the victim’s vehicle and took his wallet that had fallen on the ground when he was dragged out of the car.
The men then fled the scene. Baez-Molano was transported to a local hospi- tal, where he was treated and released. Police said it is un- clear why the men attacked him.
RAPPER “KENDO KAPONI”
One of the suspects has been identified as 32-year-old Jose Fernando Rivera Morales, an up and coming rapper who uses the stage name of “Kendo Kaponi.”
Morales is being charged with armed burglary with as- sault and battery, aggravated battery and petit theft.
