MRS. DOROTHY GOINS
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Dorothy Goins of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, will be held Saturday, October 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Elder Co- lette Avant, officiating. The in- terment will be held in Rest Have Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dorothy Goins was born on May 31, 1943 to the union of the late James and Thelma Minor in Greenville, Florida. Dorothy re- ceived her education in the Hills- borough County schools, graduating in 1961 from Middle- ton Senior High School. She be- came a devoted wife on June 19, 1961, united in holy matrimony to Charles A. Goins, Sr., in Tampa, Florida. Through that union, they were blessed with two sons, Gregory and Charles Jr.
Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and was an active participant in church activities including singing in the choir and ushering. She later became a longtime member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, in Tampa Florida.
Full of “Life, Energy and Humor,” Dorothy was employed with the Hillsborough County School System for more than
thirty-three years. She received several awards for her outstand- ing performance and dedication.
Her forever “fun personality” was infectious to all she came in contact with, whether at work, with family, or friends. In other words, she was known to give or take a joke. After her retirement, she really enjoyed doing fun stuff, always looking forward to the next “sister’s trip.”
Dorothy was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Thelma Minor; siblings, Willie James, Annie Mae, George, Malachi, Iva, Rosa Lee, and Joe Minor.
To forever cherish her mem- ories: Dorothy leaves a loving and dedicated husband, Charles Arey Goins, Sr.; two sons, Gre- gory Cornelius Goins and Charles Arey Goins, Jr., (Sha- ree); grandchildren, Camera E. Goins, Jordan C. Goins, Onnika J. Goins, Taylor M. Wallace, Charles A. Goins, III, Gabriel N. Goins, Jasmine’ Goins, Nijul M. Goins and Justice A.M. Goins; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Thelma Minor Billings (Eddie), Fort Worth, Texas and Catherine Minor Harvey (Lee), Riverview, Florida; 1 uncle, Willie D. Ray- ford, Williston Florida; 3 sisters- in-law, Lillie Tombs Minor Tampa, Florida, Loretta Gilbert Tampa, Florida and James Edna Douglas (Lenton) Tampa, Florida; 3 brothers-in-law, George Monroe, Williston, Florida, Walter Goins Safety Harbor, Florida and Frank Goins, South Bay, Florida; a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; neighbors and friends; including a very special friend, Elizabeth Thomas, Tampa, Florida.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are following the CDC guidelines.
MRS. BEVERLY ANN GRIFFIN
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Beverly Ann Griffin, of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, will be held Friday, October 22nd, 12:00 p.m. at Revealing Truth Ministries, 5201 N. Armenia Ave.
Beverly was born in Manhat- tan, New York, in Harlem to Emily and Frank Gadsden, Sr. She was the fourth child born out of five to this union.
She was preceded in death by: both her parents; her brother Frank Gadsden, Jr.; brother-in- law, Melvin Robinson; sisters, Adele Robinson, and Paulette Washington, and nephew, Mar- vin Robinson.
Beverly attended public schools in New York, went to Bronx Community College and received an AS Degree becoming a R.N.
Later in life she received a B.S. Degree in Psychiatric Nurs- ing from Southern Univ. She was a RNC for 47 years.
After retiring, she worked part-time for Hospice and a Faith Comm Nurse for the Nursing Home Ministries with her church, Revealing Truth Min- istries.
Beverly moved to Tampa with her daughter, Linesha, where she’s worked at many of the area Hospitals and Mental Health facilities.
Beverly had two more chil- dren Candace and Isaac, and de- cided to make the Tampa Bay area her permanent home, sup- porting the local sport teams.
Beverly has several grand- children that she refers to as “The Grands” and she has 1 great grandchild and another on the way. She was loved by all family and friends and will be missed by all.
Beverly is survived by: her children, Linesha, Lonnie, Jr., Candace and Isaac; “The Grands” Carlo, Kyra, Mya, Monte, Shanice and Cairo; great grandchildren, Jo’Kari and Aura; brother, Raymond and Willene Gadsden; sister, Rachel Gadsden; cousins, Cecil Wilson and Ronald Wilson; nephews and nieces, Leon, Anita, Adina, Tracey, Chris, Curtis, Felecia, Eboney, Dana, Michael, Regi- nald, Felicia and Hennis, Frank, III, Shenell, Johnathan, Raquel and Nikki; a host of grand nephews, nieces, extended fam- ily and friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thurs- day, October 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends during the visitation. We are following the CDC guidelines.

Service for Mr. Walter David Douglas, Jr., of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on October 8, 2021, will be held on Saturday, October 23rd, 11:00 a.m. at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 2101 Lowe Street, Tampa, 33605, Rev- erend Dr. Glenn Dames, Sr., Senior Pastor, officiating.
In His infinite wisdom and gentle grace, God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, so He gently closed David’s loving eyes and whispered, “Peace be thine.”
And so it was that Friday evening, the 8th of October in the year of our Lord, two thou- sand twenty-one.
David, as he was affection- ately known, was born on No- vember 18, 1946, to the parentage of Walter David Dou- glas, Sr., and Maxine Mobley Douglas.
David passed away quietly at the home of his son and family, Jermaine, Sr.
David was an avid Buccaneer fan and was known for his love of golf, racquetball, shooting pool, and spending time with family and friends.
David was a graduate of Mid- dleton High School and attended Florida A&M University, where he was a member of the March- ing 100. He was a member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, where he served faithfully in var- ious positions.
David never met a stranger and had a smile that would light up a room. He had a strong Christian faith that never failed. David had a love of life and fam- ily and gave meaning to the word’s son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He was preceded by his fa- ther and son, Walter David Dou- glas, Sr., and Walter David Douglas, III.
David leaves to cherish pre- cious memories with: his loving mother, Maxine Mobley Dou- glas; children, Wayne Devin Douglas, Jermaine L. Douglas, Sr., and wife, Donna, Jahmal L. Douglas and wife, Ereaka; Kenith Myers, Yvette Boatwright and Terrance Brooks; 14 grand- children; 9 great grandchildren; god brothers, Shawn D. Singfield and Warren Dingle; and a host of loving family and friends.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Tampa FL, 33610, Pastor Sandy Banks offi- ciating. The Interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carla was born on January 22, 1960, to Marion Gaines and Freddie Ashley, in Tampa, FL. She was a member of Trans- forming Lives Christian Center. Carla loved being with her fam- ily, dancing, traveling, eating good food, and helping others.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Freddie Ashley; grandmother, Emma Moore Gaines; grandfather, McKinley Gaines; sisters, Marian Ander- son and Likita White; aunt, Betty Williams; and uncle, Herbert Williams.
She leaves precious memo- ries with: her husband, Jerome Parham, Sr.; her children, Kar- nesia Jones (Roe, Jr.), Carlos Brock, and Carlette Brock; bonus daughters, Reca Grayes and Samantha Jones; grandchil- dren, Romell Jones and Jazmyn Jones; brothers, Dr. Jerry Franklin, III, Robert Anderson, Jr., (Awilda), and Bobby Ander- son, III; aunts, Sally Ann Russell (Ret. Chief Master Sgt. Wilbert E. Russell), Carolyn Conyers; nieces, Alisha Anderson, Denise Anderson, Asia Anderson, Tiffany Anderson, Lauren An- derson, Jenna Watson, and Keisha Watson; nephew, Anto- nio Lee; cousins, Mildred Phillips, Herbert Williams, Jr., Lasharne Conyers, La Tonia V.
