Blazers’ Lillard On Leaving Portland: 'Absolutely Not'
DAMIEN LILLARD
Damian Lillard re- sponded to a question about a potential departure from the Portland Trail Blazers on Insta- gram Live Friday night with a simple response: “Absolutely not.”
Lillard goes on to elabo- rate, stating that he is in it for the “long haul.” In the video, he further denies the rumor that he is going to leave the Trail Blazers to play for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Since being selected with the No. 6 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Lillard has steadily climbed Portland’s all-time leaderboards. He trails only Clyde Drexler for points scored in a Blazers uniform.
Klay Thompson Leaves Game 2 With Hamstring Injury
KLAY THOMPSON
Klay Thompson left Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night with a hamstring injury.
Thompson was grabbing at his left hamstring at times during the game. Then in the fourth quarter, he took a 3- pointer and landed awkwardly following Fred VanVleet’s closeout. He limped to the Golden State Warriors’ bench and then into the locker room.
The Warriors announced later in the fourth quarter that Thompson had exited with left hamstring tightness and would not return.
Thompson had 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 32 minutes prior to his injury. He was 10-for-17 shooting with four 3-pointers.
The Warriors were getting beat up in the game. Kevon Looney left with a collarbone injury, Andre Iguodala hurt his head in the second quarter before returning, and Steph Curry was said to be playing at less than full strength.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade's Sons Will Be High School Teammates Next Season.
It looks like Wade and James will be forming a new super team soon, and we aren’t talking about LeBron and Dwyane.
LeBron James' sons Bronny James, 14, and Bryce James, 11, and Dwyane Wade's son Zaire, 17, will all attend Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California this fall.
Both of the James boys previously attended Cross- roads School in Santa Monica while Zaire Wade is cur-
rently a junior at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida.
Bronny and Zaire will no doubt create a miniature ver- sion of their father’s iconic Miami Heat championship- winning duo. Zaire, who will be part of the Class of 2020, al- ready has an offer from Ne- braska. Meanwhile Bronny, who has been receiving atten- tion ever since he first learned to dribble, already had visits from top NCAA coaches like Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski.
Dwyane Wade Was Surprise
Guest At Stoneman Douglas
Graduation Ceremony
Recently retired Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade was the surprise guest at Sun- day’s graduation ceremony for the Marjory Stoneman Dou- glas High School class of 2019.
Wade, who wrapped up his basketball career in April, has been a consistent support to the Stoneman Douglas com- munity in the wake of the Feb. 14, 2018, mass shooting that killed 17 people.
He made a surprise visit to the Parkland high school shortly after the shooting and paid homage to one of the stu- dent victims, Joaquin “Guac” Oliver. The 17-year- old Oliver, whose favorite basketball player was Wade, was buried in a Dwyane Wade Miami Heat jersey.
On Sunday, Wade ad- dressed the graduation Stone- man Douglas students. He spoke of his experience visit- ing the school shortly after the shooting, and how he didn’t know what words to say.
“I remember walking to the school, and I remember hearing absolutely nothing,” Wade said on stage at the graduation. “I remember thinking to myself, ‘I’ve never felt ... never heard this kind of silence before in my life.’
DWYANE WADE
... I remember being so nervous to see and meet every- body. What would I say? I grew up in the inner city of Chicago and I’ve experienced a lot of awful things. But I’ve never experienced anything to the magnitude that you guys have just experienced. ...
“What started going through my mind was how do I dare come in here and act like I know what you guys have been going through? How nar- cissistic of me to think I can come here and make a differ- ence because I’m good at my sport. I remember walking slowly to the cafeteria. As I was walking in, students started seeing me, I remember seeing smiles, people running, pulling out their phones. ... I remember thinking, ‘Wow.’ It was packed. I didn’t expect that.”
