Jennifer Hudson Honors Aretha Franklin's Legacy At Pulitzer Prize Ceremony
An icon. A legend. A su- perstar. Aretha Franklin racked up plenty of honors when she was still with us, throughout her many years in the entertainment industry. Even her homegoing—her fu- neral—was more a soulful, celebratory concert than a dour ceremony. And in the middle of that homegoing concert was Oscar-Award winning singer Jennifer Hudson.

Hudson, who is slated to portray Franklin in a film about her life (and who says she is learning the piano just to stay true in her portrayal), was the obvious choice to honor Franklin at Tuesday’s Pulitzer Prize ceremony in New York City at the Low Memorial Library on Colum- bia University’s campus.
But she almost didn’t make it.
Kris Jenner Pissed At Kanye For Sending Her Boyfriend A ‘Really Rude’ Text
KAYNE WEST, COREY GAMBLE AND KRIS JENNER
Kris Jenner’s relationship with her boyfriend Corey Gam- ble was on full display during Sunday’s episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
The drama popped off after Kim Kardashian’s husband Kanye West called out Gam- ble over text, questioning why they had never met his family, PEOPLE reports.
“Kanye texts Corey some- thing along the lines of, ‘Look, we don’t know you, we’ve never met any of your family members,’ ” explained Kim. “Of course we’ve all felt that way and thought that, but for Kanye to just so bluntly say that to him — I feel like that was the wrong choice to make at that time.”
Kris, 63, and Gamble, 38, have been dating since Novem- ber 2014, following her divorce from Caitlyn Jenner.
“He is very paternal, though,” said Kourtney in defense of the hip-hop star. “He tries to take care of all us.”
“Kanye’s delivery wasn’t great, but the essence of what he said is true,” added Khloe. “Corey does tend to be pretty secretive and that does have me pretty guarded. ... We don’t know Corey like that.”
She even admitted that she never thought his relationship with her mother would last as long as it has.
“After my mom got her di- vorce, I was like, ‘Okay, this probably isn’t going to last,’ ” Khloe said. “I just didn’t feel the need to get that connected or at- tached. Then when I saw time progressing and the relationship was still there, we tried to get to know him, but he has not been receptive in this whole thing.”
Meanwhile, Kris was not having any of Ye’s messiness.
“I just wish I knew why [Kanye] has to bring bad energy into the field at 6 o’clock in the morning,” she said. “I would never disrespect somebody and say that.”

but federal officials pushed for the court to deny him bail after deeming him a “danger to the community.”
2. Following that, Kodak
asked the judge presiding over his case to allow him bail with the provision that he would put himself under the strict supervision of his legal team. The 21-year-old is cur- rently being investigated for allegedly lying on govern- ment forms to purchase firearms from a Miami gun shop.
One of the firearms he bought linked him to the scene of a recent shooting that occurred in Pompano Beach, which is also currently being investigated.
