Lil Durk Turns Himself In On Attempted Murder Charges
Rotimi Admits To Owing 50 Cent And Coughs Up $100K Initial Payment
50 CENT AND ROTIMI
ATLANTA, GA – Shortly after a warrant was issued for Lil Durk’s arrest, the Chicago-bred rapper surren- dered to Georgia authorities.
According to a tweet from WSB-TV’s Michael Seiden, Durk turned himself in on Thursday (May 30) around 9 p.m. local time. His first court appearance was on Friday (May 31).
Before Durk surrendered, he did an exclusive interview with WSB-TV and proclaimed his innocence.
“I have nothing to hide,” he said. “I have nothing to run from. We found out we had a warrant actually while on tour. Once I heard, I immediately
LIL DURK
came back.”
When blatantly asked if he
shot the victim, Durk said, “Um, no.”
Legal docs stated Durk has been charged with criminal at- tempt to commit murder, ag- gravated assault (shooting at), unlawful for person employed by/associated with criminal street gang to conduct/partici- pate in criminal gang activity, possession of firearm during commission of a felony (vgcsa) and possession of firearm by convicted felon.
The charges originate from a February 5 shooting at The Varsity restaurant in Atlanta where a 23-year-old man suf- fered multiple gunshot wounds.
Durk remains in Fulton County Jail after his bond was reportedly denied.
Power actor Rotimi has pacified his co-star 50 Cent — at least temporarily. After Fiddy went after Rotimi on social media for an alleged $300,000 debt, the R&B singer reportedly settled part of the outstanding bill.
In an interview with TMZ Live, Rotimi copped to owing Fiddy money and says he handed over $100,000 to 50 earlier this week.
“Let me explain the whole situation,” he began. “When you’re signed to someone as an artist, they give you a budget to promote the records, make sure everything’s good with the records and market it so it gets the best value ... 50 believed in me in 2014 and gave me a deal under G-Unit.”
“At this point, we didn’t
agree on the single ‘Love Rhythm.’ I felt it was the one. He felt like I should’ve gone with another record, so I asked him, ‘Can I get out of my deal?’ He said, ‘Yes, I’m not gonna hold you back, but there’s busi- ness.'”
As Rotimi went on to ex- plain their deal, he revealed a payment already went down.
“The way he handles situa- tions is unorthodox,” he con- tinued. “I think he was just in a bad mood yesterday. I don’t know what it was. I was just confused, like, ‘Yo, we talked about this.’ We talked about it today. Instead of waiting for royalties, because he’s my brother, instead of waiting for royalties, I gave him $100,000. We’re good. We’re good.”
Cosmopolitan Hotel Issues Public Apology To Meek Mill And Admits There Was No Fight
LAS VEGAS, NV – As prom- ised, the Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino has issued a public apology to Meek Mill. The Las Vegas hotel delivered a statement via Twitter on Fri- day (May 31), admitting the Philly-bred artist never had a prior altercation on their prop- erty as they originally claimed. “We apologize to Meek Mill for how we handled the situa- tion on Saturday, May 25, as we did not act in a respectful manner and were wrong,” the statement reads. “Meek Mill has not had any prior incident on our property.
“The Cosmopolitan has zero tolerance for discrimination and we pride ourselves on pro- viding an inclusive environ- ment. We look forward to welcoming Meek Mill back to the resort.”
MEEK MILL
Meek was barred from en- tering the Marquee Dayclub on Saturday (May 25). He called them out on social media and ultimately got his legal team involved.
Attorney Joe Tacopina threatened to sue the Sin City hotel for what Meek viewed as racist behavior. Swae Lee, Yo Gotti, O. J. Simpson and Snoop Dogg are all said
to have experienced similar treatment at the Cosmopolitan and other Vegas hotels.
Tacopina sent a letter to the Cosmopolitan, which was obtained by HipHopDX.
“Your hotel’s failure to pro- vide a reason for singling our Mr. Williams [Meek Mill] is incredibly telling,” Tacopina wrote. in part. “In short, we have learned that the Cosmopolitan maintains a list of African American recoding artists who should be denied access for no other reason than their culture and skin color.
“Such course of conduct constitutes discrimination per se, in violation of state and fed- eral law, and exposes you to significant monetary dam- ages.”
Evidently, Tacopina’s tac- tics worked
YNW Melly Seeking Bail In Double Homicide Case
50 Cent And Scott Storch Hit The Studio At Dr. Dre's Request
MIRAMAR, FL – YNW Melly is reportedly seeking bail — despite facing two first- degree murder charges in South Florida.
In court documents ob- tained by TMZ, Melly and his legal team say he should be able to post bond and remain out of jail until his trial. They insist he’s not a flight risk and promises he would remain in Florida until he has his day in court.
The 19-year-old rapper’s counsel points out he voluntar- ily turned himself in to author- ities and could’ve fled when he initially learned he was facing capital murder charges. They also reminded the court his en- tire family lives in the area, which means he’d be staying close.
According to the docs, Melly appears confident he’ll beat the case. There’s report- edly no murder weapon, wit- nesses tying him to the shooting, DNA evidence or motive.
Melly stands accused of killing YNW Sakchaser and

YNW Juvy last October and
then staging the scene to make it look like a drive-by shooting. He and his alleged accomplice, Cortlen Henry, reportedly drove around with the two dead bodies for hours trying to come up with a plausible story. Both Melly and Henry have pleaded not guilty.
The State of Florida isn’t convinced. Prosecutors say they have proof beyond a rea- sonable doubt that Melly and Henry are responsible for the crimes. The State is seeking the death penalty for Melly.
By all intents and purposes, 50 Cent’s life seems to re- volve around Instagram trolling. But evidently, he does carve out some time to hop in the studio and make some ac- tual music.
On Friday (May 31), the Power exec shared a photo of himself with prolific producer Scott Storch and said it was at Dr. Dre’s behest.
“Took time off b*&h now we back to work @scottstorchoffi- cial we got on with DR.Dre,” he wrote in the caption. “Dre

said he love what I’m doing in TV, but he want me back in the
studio.”
Storch is behind several of
50’s biggest hits such as “Candy Shop” and “Just A Lil Bit.” Their working relation- ship stretches back to at least 2005.
After struggling with drugs and money issues, the long- time beatmaker is clearly back at it. More recent collabora- tions include Russ, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Young Thug, Post Malone, Fat Joe, T. I. and Tekashi 6ix9ine.
