A short time later, the 44- year-old victim was sitting in the passenger’s seat of his friend’s truck. At some point, a dark colored Dodge Charger drove by and some- one from the vehicle fired several shots at the truck.

JEFF DESANGE ... Charged
A 19-year-old man was arrested Thursday and charged in connection with an accident that took place in January. He is currently being held at the Hillsbor- ough County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
The accident was re- ported at 9:34 p.m., on Jan- uary 5th, at the corner of N. 40th Street and E. Lake Av- enue.
According to police, Joery G. Christophe and Jeff Desange, both 19, were driving northbound on N. 40th Street, the night of the accident. Christophe was driving a 2007 gray, BMW and had a passenger in his vehicle. Desange was driv- ing a Ford.

enue, both traveling at a high rate of speed. The two vehi- cles side swiped each other and both drivers lost control of the vehicles.
Christophe reportedly struck a metal traffic pole on the northeast side of N. 40th Street and E. Lake Avenue and the vehicle burst into flames. The unidentified pas- senger was ejected and trans- ported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Christophe died as a re- sult of his injuries. Desange was not injured.
After investigating the ac- cident, detectives arrested Desange on a warrant last Thursday. He was charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an acci- dent involving property dam- age, and reckless driving with serious injuries.
An unidentified 17-year- old student was arrested last week and charged with mak- ing a threat. The threat re- portedly followed an altercation with a teacher.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the Armwood High School student became engaged in an altercation with one of his teachers. He is alleged to have said, “I’m going to bring the strap tomorrow and let it off.”
The student reportedly made the threat in the pres- ence of witnesses. He is al- leged to have made similar threats two separate times this year. However, the inci- dents were investigated both times, but were unfounded, police said.
A “strap” is slang for a
gun. The student was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) and charged with false report concerning planting a bomb, an explosive or a weapon of mass destruc- tion, or concerning the use of firearms in a violent manner.
Sheriff Chad Chronis- ter said, “There is no bigger priority to us than the safety of our children. Due to the abundance of time and re- sources required to investi- gate each and every incident along with the climate we find ourselves in today, we all have to understand that there is a zero tolerance policy on these types of threats. We take each and every one of these types of cases very, very, seriously.”
