Dies Following
Brief Illness

Mr. Lewis Edward Watson died following a brief illness on March 7th. Ms. Watson was 81-years-old.
A Tampa native, Mr. Watson was the son of the late Mrs. Essie Mae Wynn Watson and the late Walter Boyd. He attended the pub- lic schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
Following graduation, Mr. Watson obtained em- ployment at a local chemical plant, where he worked for more than 30 years.
After retiring from there, Mr. Watson worked at Alt- man Trucks as body shop worker. He also owned and operated Watson’s Body Shop, corner of E. Columbus Drive and N. 56th Street for several years. He also worked as a handyman, his brother, Johnny Watson said.

A member of Greater Bethel AME Church, Mr. Watson is the husband of Mrs. Mildred Watson and the father of 6 sons, numer- ous grandchildren, 4 broth- ers, 3 sisters, and other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Watson will take place on Saturday. Ray Williams Fu- neral Home is in charge of handling arrangements.

Teens Charged As Adults In Drive-By Shooting

Two teenagers who were arrested and charged with shooting at someone from a moving vehicle have been ar- rested. Both have been charged as adults in connec- tion with the crime.
According to police, on February 12, 2018, at approx- imately 5:20 p.m., Ju- ventino Morales, 14, was driving a white SUV with Javier Rocha, 15, a rear passenger. The two juveniles drove past the victims and Rocha is alleged to have

pointed a black semi-auto- matic handgun at them.
The vehicle made a u-turn and drove past the victims for a second time. This time, Rocha is alleged to have pointed the weapon at the victims again and fired be- tween 3 and 6 shots at them.
One of the victims was able to identify the teenagers. Both were charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
