Man Dies After Tree Falls On Car
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
A 36-year-old Hudson man died after a tree branch fell on his car. The accident took place shortly before 4 a.m., near the intersec- tion of Deleuil Avenue and Orient Road.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, William J. Vantassel was driving northbound on Orient Road. As he
approached the intersection of Deleuil, at ap- proximately 3;52 a.m., Thursday, a large sec- tion of an oak tree broke and fell onto the hood of his car, bringing power lines down with it.
The tree crushed the roof of the car and Vantassel died at the scene.

Historic Tarpon Springs Cemetery Celebrates Centennial
Commemoration to be held Saturday June 17, 2017, 11 A. M., Rose Cemetery, Jasmine Av- enue, Tarpon Springs.
Rose Hill Cemetery in Tarpon Springs, Florida was deeded in 1917 (June 15th) for the burial of colored persons.
The cemetery association is planning a Cen- tennial celebration to recognize 100 years on Sat- urday, June 17th, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery, also known as Rose Cemetery.
Rose Cemetery was established in the 1800s as a segregated cemetery. It is the oldest African American Cemetery in Pinellas County.
Rose Cemetery Association is leading the way to build a Memorial to honor the unnamed early settlers.
There will be exhibits, gospel songs, jazz music, candle lighting ceremony, memorial trib- utes, cemetery tours and refreshments.
Rose Cemetery is on the National Register of Historic Places.
