The Mummy - An ancient evil princess (Sofia Boutella) who set out for eternal life is awaken from her crypt beneath the desert by an Anthropologist (Annabelle Wallis) and military soldier (Tom Cruise). The princess brings terror to humanity beyond human comprehension. Can't figure why critics gave Cruise's movie bad reviews., but I'm here to tell you this film was action-packed and creepy. Definitely, not for kids. Cruise got this right by using an Algerian actress (North Africa) as the Mummy. Must-see and fast paced. Enjoyed it. Made $34M-U.S./ foreign- $140M- (budget-$125M)- ****
Wonder Woman - Diana ( Gal Gadof- Fast And The Furious 6) was the princess of the Amazons and trained warrior. A pilot (Chris Pine) crashes into her world and tells Diana about the German War. Diana leaves her home to stop the war and bring peace to the world. She later discovers her full power and true destiny that transformed her into Wonder Woman. I must admit didn't expect this movie to be this good. This is a well-written, action- packed superhero movie that featured a woman. Director Patty Jenkins got this film right. Must-see!. 2hrs/27mins long. Still No.1 at box office- $212M U.S./ foreign- $232M- (budget- $149M)- Classic
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales - Two renegades ( Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scode- lario), pirate (Geoffrey Rush) and Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) search for the trident (spear) of Poseidon while being pursued by an undead sea captain (Javier Bardem) and his crew. This should be the last film for this franchise. Maybe if the stars looked like they had bruises on their faces from all the action, it might be believable. Wait for it on DVD. Made - $134M U.S./ foreign- $464M- (budget- $230M)- ***
Alien: Covenant - Director Ridley Scott returns again with this sci-fi franchise about a crew (Michael Fass- bender, Katherine Waterston) on a colony ship traveling to a remote planet to live. The crew discover an uncharted planet and makes a detour to discover the planet looks like Earth. Unfortunately, the planet is infested with Aliens. The film has a nice twist at the end. Must see for Aliens fans. Made - $71M/ foreign-$110M- (budget- $97M)- ****
King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword - After seeing his parents murder when he was a child, Arthur (Charles Hunnam- Sons Of Anarchy) comes up the hard way and is forced to acknowledge his true legacy from the King (Jude Law(. Can’t figure why the critics gave this film bad reviews. Having seeing a bad movie from Director Guy Ritchie ( Sherlock Holmes 1 and 2, Rock N Rolla). Really enjoyed this sci-fi action adventure. Made 38M- (U.S/ foreign- $96M) (budget- $175M)- ****
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2. - Director James Gunn (Guardian Galaxy Vol. 1) has done it again with this second Marvel sci-fi action adventure. Mixing soft rock, p-funk music with the special effects make this movie truly amazing. The Guardians team (Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Tampan Dave Bautista, Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper, Baby Groot-voiced by Vin Diesel and Michael Rooker) set out on new adventures to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's(Pratt) parents. I must say this film was better than the first. The action, special effects, comedy and drama at the end makes this film worth seeing for 2hrs/ 15mins. Made $366M U.S./ foreign- $467M (budget- $200M)- five stars (classic)
The Fate Of The Furious - Director F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Of Compton, Friday) directs this block- buster franchise about a mysterious woman named Cipher (Charlize Theron) who forces Dom (Vin Diesel) to betray his crew ( Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriquez, Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris, Jason Statham, Natalie Emmanuel and Luke Evans. The crew must decide to bring Dom down before Cipher sets off a nuclear bomb. Director F. Gary Gray blended non-stop action, comedy and a nice twist at the end that makes this film very good. Must see for action fans. Made $224M U.S./ foreign-$1 Billion- (budget- $250M)- ****
The Boss Baby - A new baby’s arrival to the family makes a serious impact on 7 year-old Tim (voiced by Miles Bakshi). The suit wearing Boss baby (voiced by Alec Baldwin) grudgingly pairs up with Tim to stop the evil plot of the CEO of Puppy Co. Kids and adults will enjoy this funny animation by Dreamworks. Made $171M U.S./ foreign- 316M- (budget-$125M)- ****
If Your Birthday Is Today: You love to travel. You want to be everywhere at once because you love stimulation and exciting ideas. This is a social, happy year with bright and cheerful vibrations. Broaden your social circle to include new contacts. Romance and love affairs may bloom. You want to live life to its fullest. This year is a year of choice. You might face an important decision.
Gemini (May 21-June 20): Do something different today be- cause you are restless for adventure. By all means, travel if you can. But at least, be a tourist in your own city or go someplace you’ve never been before. A new store. An ethnic restaurant. A different park. Live it up!
Cancer (June 21-July 22): Although you are strong and forceful now with fiery Mars in your sign, you prefer to work alone or behind the scenes. Today you might tackle issues related to shared property, inheritances, insurance or dealing with the values of others. Just do it.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): Today the Moon is in a sign that is 180 degrees opposite from your sign. This means you have to compromise and go more than halfway when dealing with others. It’s not a big deal. In two weeks, when the Moon is in your sign, they have to come to you. (We like.).
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Today you are in a practical mood, which means you want to take care of details in order to make your life run more smoothly. This includes buying sundry items, especially re- lated to health and hygiene. Tidy up loose papers and magazines. Clean the back seat of your car.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Set aside time to play today and enjoy entertaining diversions because this is a good day to do this. (Astrology always helps you with timing.) Enjoy social outings with friends, playful times with children, sports events, movies or a picnic on the beach. Your ambition is aroused now — definitely.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Home and family are your focus today. In fact, you might want to cocoon at home for a while so you can escape the busyness of the insanity around you. Fortunately, relations with partners and close friends are warm. Discussions about shared property, taxes and inheritances continue. (Gulp.).
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): This is a busy, fast-paced day! You will enjoy conversations with others; however, you don’t want to indulge in superficial chitchat about the weather. Instead, you want to get right down to the nitty-gritty of things and find out what’s really happening. (“Are they still together?”).
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Be patient with partners and close friends because it’s easy to be annoyed with them. (Admittedly, they are annoying.) Nevertheless, Venus promises playful entertaining diver- sions. Today in particular, you have your eye on money, cash flow and perhaps shopping?
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Today the Moon is in your sign, which makes you more emotional than usual. However, it does attract a bit of extra good luck to you (more than all the other signs). You win some, you lose some. You might test this by asking the universe for a favor?
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): You feel the need to cocoon at home or hide a bit because the busyness of everything around you is a bit over- whelming. You need to take some time to catch your breath and get your bearings. (Not Captain Queeg’s bearings.).
Aries (March 21-April 19): The pace of your days has accelerated with short trips and talking to everyone. Today in particular, you might be involved with a female acquaintance. Perhaps a friend or a member of a group. This is a good day to ponder your future goals.
Taurus (April 20-May 20): Personal details about your private life might be public today. Ack! Don’t worry because with fair Venus in your sign, you are protected. (In fact, you look mahvelous, darlink.) Why not use this in your favor? Approach parents, bosses and VIPs and ask for what you want.
