Alveda King: Niece Of Dr. Martin Luther King Speaks About Family And Their Values
The Future Of Internet Fundraising
TeamTampaBay is over- joyed to help in the global launch and bring to the Bay Area, an innovated fundrais- ing program through online shopping and travel, The Vor- tex.
The Vortex, a unique state of the art consumer booking engine with prices BELOW re- tail can generate thousands of dollars to your organization when supporters and mem- bers shop and book their travel.
Regardless of the organiza- tion, all nonprofits share one critical challenge, the constant need for new funding. Through The Vortex, we can provide a fresh and constant stream of funding, whether your organization is environ- mental, educational, social, medical or religious.
When members and sup- porters use this site to book travel, they will enjoy prices lower than what they will re- ceive online elsewhere, and at the same time they will be supporting a cause they be- lieve.
An example is a family spending $1,000 on their va- cation, could generate $238.00 to the organization. That commission is paid by the vendor, not the family. With 50 supporters generat- ing $10 a month in shopping commissions, that would be $500 for the organization, 100 supporters generating $10 a month would be $1,000 a month.
There is no glass ceiling. The money is being spent, but it’s flowing in the wrong direc- tion and not captured by the organization. Churches and other organizations are clos- ing their doors while their

members and supporters are shopping and traveling. The Vortex redirects that huge in- come stream to the organiza- tion.
If your organization has a website, we can simply add the travel link. If it does not, you will receive your own personal link. All online bookings and changes are handled by the vendors, not the organization. There is no management over- head, no contract and no com- mitment. You will receive web hosting support, corporate of- fice support, marketing sup- port, sales commission report and access to a live agent for more complicated group travel arrangements.
Your existing network of family, friends, supporters and members can access your portal 24/7. The Vortex is passive fundraising at its finest. Last year, just in the United States, $310 billion was spent on travel. Just last summer, $85 million. The Vortex can help shift some of those enormous earnings into your account.

ST. PETERSBURG – Alveda King, the niece of civil rights leader Rev. Mar- tin Luther King, Jr., deliv- ered stories of family and faith sprinkled with a little humor as the keynote speaker at the Christian Women of Influence Luncheon.
Ms. King, the daughter of Martin’s younger brother, A. D. King, touched on many topics during her speech in- cluding the support of prayer in schools and belief in mar- riage between one man and one woman.
Ms. King began her ad- dress at Thursday’s event – sponsored by WTBN AM 570 & 910 – with a video that fea- tured photos of her family, in- cluding her famous uncle and his wife, Coretta Scott King.
An evangelist and founder of Alveda King Ministries, Ms. King said the resolution to the troubles of the world today is “always going to be the agape love of Christ.”
It’s the same message that Uncle Martin delivered again and again as he fought for civil rights, she said.
“He said that God is love,” she said. “And that is going to be the answer to the chal- lenges that every woman and gentleman has in this room.”
The 65-year-old also told the sold-out audience at the Hilton Carillon Park about her “slips and slides” before she
was “born again” in 1983, in- cluding two abortions. A fierce pro-life advocate, Ms. King said she now believes in de- fending life from conception until death.
“God forgave me,” she said. “I will see my children in heaven.”
Now that she’s older, Ms. King said she’s also speaking out against euthanasia of the elderly.
“Euthanasia is bad,” she said. “So if you see me walking a little slow, don’t euthanize me!”
Ms. King, an Atlanta na- tive who served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1979 to 1983, said her position on many of the above issues is deeply rooted in her
upbringing. Both her father and uncle and her grandfa- ther, Martin, Sr. were minis- ters.
The author of “King Rules: Ten Truths For You, Your Family, and Our Nation to Prosper” shared the King family’s standards, including making home a priority, serv- ing your family, and getting a good education.
Other rules include work- ing for peace and to fight for justice “in a peaceful non-vio- lent way,” she said.
Tampa resident Pamala McCoy, said Ms. King’s speech and video taught her more about the King family. “It was phenomenal,” she said. “It felt personal. It felt close and intimate.”
Alveda King, niece of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was guest speaker for the Christian Women of Influence Luncheon in St. Pe- tersburg.

His Sexuality
Lord, bless my husband’s sexuality and make it an area of great fulfillment for him. I pray that we make time for one another, communicate our true feelings openly, and remain sensitive to what each other needs. Keep us sexually pure in mind and body, and close the door to anything lustful or illicit that seeks to encroach upon us. Deliver us from the bondage of past mistakes. Remove completely the effect of any sexual experience in thought or deed that has ever happened to us outside of our relationship. Purify us by the power of Your Spirit.
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual im- morality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; there- fore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 CORINTHIANS 6:18-20
