Tampa Housing Authority Recognized As ‘High Performer’
Held For Newly
Appointed County Judge
Last week, the Tampa Housing Authority received notification that it has re- ceived the “High Performer” designation from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This designation is the result of agency performance and op- erations under the Public Housing Assessment Sys- tem’s Score Report.
The Tampa Housing Au- thority earned an overall score of 92 out of a top score of 100. They were rated in the categories of physical, fi- nancial, management, and capital fund. There were no audit penalties.

On Thursday, February 25th, members of the com- munity gathered for the In- vestiture Ceremony for a local judge. Chief Justice Jorge Labarga, of the Florida Supreme Court, offi- ciated.
The ceremony giving the Oath of Office to Judge Daryl Manning into office as a Hillsborough County Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit, took place at 4 p.m., at the Hillsborough County Courthouse, 6th Floor.
Judge Manning was ap- pointed to serve in the posi- tion last year and took his role on the bench in Novem- ber. He is currently assigned to the Civil Division.
“I’m very excited. I am truly humbled by this ap- pointment, I understand the tremendous responsibility that comes with the job, and I am ready for it,” he said.
Judge Manning brings extensive military experience and more than 16 years working in the Florida Attor- ney General’s Office to the position.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Judge Manning earned his B. A. Degree from the University of South Car- olina. He continued his edu- cation at St. John’s University, School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate Degree. He earned his LLM Degree from the University of Virginia.
He is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in all state courts in

Florida, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts, the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the United States Supreme Court.
While serving in the U. S. Army Judge Manning, 50, served in the First and Sec- ond Gulf Wars, tours of duty in Iraq, and Afghanistan. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
The father of two daugh- ters, Judge Manning is a Board member of the Kid’s Place Residential Facility, and a member of Big Broth- ers Big Sisters, and a Guardian Ad Litem for sev- eral years. His little brother, Noah Walker, is 9-years- old.
