Derek Jeter Teaming Up With Jeb Bush In Effort To Buy Miami Marlins
DEREK JETER AND JEB BUSH
Future Hall of Famer Derek Jeter isn’t squaring off against the Bush family in his quest to buy the Miami Mar- lins. He is teaming up with them.
The retired former New York Yankee captain now has “joined forces” with former Florida governor Jeb Bush in his efforts to buy the team from Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria, the Miami Herald re- ported on Wednesday, citing “sources familiar with the talks.”
Jeter and Bush initially were listed as members of sep- arate investment groups when news broke earlier this month about Loria entertaining of- fers for the franchise, which moved into a new stadium known as Marlins Park in Miami’s “Little Havana” sec- tion in 2012.
Danny Amendola Reportedly Takes Another Pay Cut To Stay With Patriots
DANNY AMENDOLA Danny Amendola will be
on the New England Patriots’ roster for a fifth straight year heading into training camp, as the veteran wide receiver has re- portedly agreed to take yet an- other pay cut.
Amendola, who agreed to a reduced salary the past two sea- sons, worked out the same type of arrangement with the Patri- ots again on Tuesday, though he will make slightly more than he did in 2016.
Amendola actually gets an increase in pay over his 2016 salary, but he’ll be making sig- nificantly less than the $6 mil- lion he was scheduled to make with the original deal he signed back in 2013.

The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers announced they will be the focus of the 12th season of "Hard Knocks," HBO's vener- able collaboration with NFL Films that offers football fans a warts-and-all view of train- ing camp life.

Superstar quarterback Tom Brady was among sev- eral New England Patriots players who decided not to at- tend Wednesday's ceremony at the White House honoring the team's Super Bowl LI win -- but unlike some of his com- patriots, Brady claimed his decision not to go has nothing to do with President Trump.
Brady only announced Wednesday morning that he would not be attending.
“Thank you to the president for hosting this honorary cele- bration and for supporting our team for as long as I can re- member,” he said in a state- ment. “In light of some recent development, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some per- sonal family matters.”
The White House told Fox News it was aware ahead of time that Brady wouldn't be at the ceremony.
While Brady didn't specifi- cally say what the family issue was, it's known that his mom has cancer.
Brady previously missed a Patriots trip to the White House when former Presi- dent Barack Obama was

the resident, too, citing a scheduling issue.
While the matter of athletes skipping a White House invite for political reasons is cer- tainly nothing new, at least six other players on the Patriots' championship squad skipped the trip to D.C. Wednesday, and some have specifically said their absence was in protest of Trump, including: Martellus Bennett – The tight end – who’s now a mem- ber of the Green Bay Packers – said before the Super Bowl was even played that he’d probably opt out. “Most likely not, because I don’t support the person in it,” Bennett told The Detroit Free Press. Ben- nett, who had five catches for 62 yards in the Super Bowl, has also been an enthusiastic supporter of the “Black Lives Matter” movement.
Jameis Winston Says He'd 'Absolutely' Want To Play With Adrian Peterson
Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Jameis Winston once again publicly praised free-agent future Hall Of Famer running back Adrian Peterson, saying he would "absolutely" like to play with the former MVP.
"Absolutely," Winston told reporters when asked if he'd like Peterson as a team- mate. "I don't know no one that wouldn't. Again, it's out of my league. I can only talk about how much I learned from him and how he helped me this offseason."
Peterson, 32, is a free agent for the first time in his career after the Minnesota Vikings declined his 2017 op- tion. He and Winston worked out together in Hous- ton earlier this offseason, and the quarterback described Peterson's work ethic as "eye-opening."
The Buccaneers' running back situation is in flux head-

ing into 2017. Doug Martin returned following a stint in a rehabilitation center and is ostensibly listed as the team's starter. However, Tampa has no financial obligation to him for 2017 because a four-game drug suspension voided the $7 million guaranteed on his contract for next season.
The Bucs could cut Martin and sign Peterson at a lesser number. It's clear Winston came away from his meeting with Peterson impressed and even brought some Tampa receivers with him.

Basketball 1st & 2nd Rounds Of
March Madness Tournament
Judge Rules In Favor Of Von Miller In Sex Tape Case
March Madness is coming to Tampa in 2020!
Rob Higgins, Executive Director of Tampa Bay Sports Commission confirmed the news on his twitter account on Tuesday.
The first and second rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament will be held at Amalie Arena in 2020.
The dates are set for March 19 and 21, 2020.
Von Miller just racked up another sack.
An L.A. judge has ordered a woman not to release the sex tape recorded between her and the Broncos linebacker.
The case took months to re- solve in the courtroom.
The female party in the video, Elizabeth Ruiz, claimed to own 50 percent of the video. She also claimed that Miller gave her the green light to record the en- counter.
In response to Ruiz’s claim that Miller consented to the video, he argued that the Instagram model was at- tempting to extort $2.5 mil- lion from him — using the tape as a sort of blackmail.
Ruiz denied the allegations and asserted that Miller’s

legal team approached her with a financial offer.
Much of the conflict seemed to be settled this week, as the L.A. judge issued an injunction in the case.
As a result, Ruiz cannot distribute the tape, nor can she let anyone see it.
Ruiz was also ordered to pay Miller $50,000 in attor- ney’s fees.
Prison officials in Massa- chusetts say that former NFL star Aaron Hernandez hung himself in his cell and died this morning. CNN re- ports an official with the Mas- sachusetts Department of Corrections says Hernandez was found hanged in his cell just after 3 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities attempted to re- vive him but, he was eventu- ally pronounced dead around 4:07 a.m.
Hernandez reportedly used a bed sheet, attached to a cell window to hang himself. He stayed in a singular cell, amongst the general popula- tion at Souza Baranowski Cor- rectional Center in Shirley,

Hernandez’ death comes
while serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder.
He was acquitted Friday in a 2012 double slaying prose- cutors said was fueled by his anger over a drink spilled at a nightclub.
