Ex-NFL Star Kellen
Bucs' Gerald McCoy: 'I'll Be On The Field At Some Point'
Winslow, II Faces
Gerald McCoy's precari- ous future with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is one of the lingering unresolved story- lines of the offseason.
The veteran defensive tackle has stayed away from Tampa Bay's voluntary offsea- son workout program while reports swirl that he's a trade or cut candidate.
But McCoy swore this weekend that he'll be on the practice pitch eventually, though whose field he did not specify.
Asked if he'll be playing in Tampa Bay, McCoy added, "I
trum Bay News' Mike Cairns on Saturday night.
The 31-year-old has three years remaining on his con- tract with the Bucs and is still owed just under $39 million, but would count nothing in dead cap if Tampa Bay were to cut him.
Concern over McCoy's place on the roster sprouted when new coach Bruce Ari- ans sounded noncommittal at the Annual League Meeting in keeping the six-time Pro Bowler on the team, empha- sizing that he had not been as disruptive in recent years.

Jury selection kicked off Monday in the trial of ex-NFL tight end Kellen Winslow, II, who faces charges of rape, kidnapping and indecent ex- posure, CBS reports.
Winslow, 35, the son of former San Diego Chargers legend Kellen Winslow, al- legedly raped two women in Encinitas, Calif., in 2018, as well as an unconscious teen girl in 2003, and exposed himself to an elderly woman at a gym earlier this year, the report states,
He is facing life imprison- ment in connection with the slew of charges he’s been hit with.
Here’s a break down of the case:
• He is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl in 2003 at a home in Scripps Ranch.
• He reportedly lured a 54- year-old transient — who was hitchhiking — into his Hum- mer for a ride, then raped her in March 2018.
• Later that year in May, he kidnaped, raped and sodom- ized a 59-year-old homeless woman and threatened to kill

her if she told anyone. Winslow’s three separate
cases have reportedly been combined into one for the trial.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges last year, but in March, while out on a $2 mil- lion bail and awaiting trial, he was arrested again for touch- ing himself at a Carlsbad gym and groping a woman in a hot tub at the same gym.
He also faces charges of en- tering a mobile home where an 86-year-old woman was sleeping and a another inci- dent where he exposed him- self to his 55-year-old neighbor while she was gar- dening in her yard.
Four Tryout Players Earn Roster Spots With Bucs
Twenty-seven players par- ticipated in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' rookie mini- camp with no guarantee be- yond the weekend. Four of them will be back on the Ad- ventHealth Training Center practice field on Tuesday.
On Monday, the Bucca- neers announced that they had signed safety D'Cota Dixon, outside linebacker David Kenney, tackle Riley Mayfield and wide receiver Spencer Schnell, all of whom had taken part in the team's weekend mini- camp on tryout contracts. To make room for those addi- tions on the 90-man offsea- son roster, the Buccaneers waived tackle Israel Helms and Malik Taylor, waived/injured tight end Isaiah Searight and re- leased running back Ker- wynn Williams.
Dixon, Kenney, May- field and Schnell hope to follow in the footsteps of Adam Humphries and Demar Dotson, two former tryout players who developed into top performers for the
Buccaneers.
Dixon (5-10, 201), who
played his prep ball in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, comes to the Bucs from Wis- consin, where he appeared in 51 games with 32 starts over four seasons. In that span, Dixon amassed 177 tackles, 2.5 sacks, three forced fum- bles, five interceptions and 16 passes defensed.
Kenney (6-2, 250) also had a tryout with the Indi- anapolis Colts before coming to Tampa. He played one season at Illinois State in 2015 after transferring from Indiana, recording 11 tackles.
Mayfield (6-7, 311) played two seasons at North Texas, starting all 27 games at right tackle during the 2017-18 campaigns. He was twice named to the Confer- ence USA all-academic team.
Schnell (5-8, 178) played three years at Illinois State, capped by a 2018 campaign in which he was named a team captain and a first- team all-conference selec- tion. Over those three seasons, Schnell compiled

175 catches for 2,030 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Helms, Taylor and Searight were all rookies the Buccaneers had signed following last month's NFL draft. Williams is a vested veteran who previously played four seasons under Head Coach Bruce Arians in Arizona.
Kareem Hunt Confident He Will Not ‘Mess Up’ Second Chance
KAREEM HUNT
Kareem Hunt is quite confident that the Cleveland Browns won’t regret giving him a second chance.
Hunt, released by the Kansas City Chiefs over video that showed him shoving and kicking a woman, has the sup- port of Browns coach Freddie Kitchens, and made clear Wednesday that he does not intend to let Cleveland down.
Hunt will have to wait half a season to prove himself. His return will prove controversial, but the Browns have decided, for better or worse, that Hunt is worth the risk.
