Man Injured By Gunfire Dies, Woman Survives
Teenagers Charged With Armed Carjacking
A shooting Tuesday evening has left a 25-year-old man dead and a 19-year-old woman injured. The shooting took place at the intersection of N. Avon Avenue and E. Stratford, in Robles Park Public Housing Complex.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were in the area of E. Lake Avenue and N. Central Av- enue, investigating a serious traffic accident. The officers overheard what sounded like gunfire and ran in the direc- tion of Jefferson Street and Stratford.
When they arrived, they discovered that an adult man had been injured by gunfire. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. He later died as a result of his injuries.

said that a 19-year-old woman was injured in the shooting, but her injuries were non-life threatening.
Detectives have not re- leased the names of the vic- tims. However, posts on Facebook have identified the victim by the nickname of “Frog.” No other informa- tion was available at press time.
The deadly shooting took place at the intersection of N. Avon Avenue and E. Strat- ford.

Two teenagers were ar- rested Tuesday night and charged with armed carjack- ing. The incident took place on Highway 60 West.
According to the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Office, the report of an armed carjacking was re- ceived around 11:20 p.m. As deputies were en route to the scene, they observed the victim’s vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 60.
The vehicle then pulled into a Racetrack Station at Turkey Creek Road. The

deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled and a pursuit took place.
Deputies were able to stop the vehicle by deploy- ing stop sticks at Highway 60 and Valrico Road. It con- tinued westbound until it came to a stop on Brandon Blvd., near Gronto Lake Drive, police said.
Deputies arrested both occupants of the vehicle who were identified as Juliaon- tae Mitchell, 16, and 15- year-old Jatue Baldwin.
Bicyclist Dies, Hit And Run Driver Surrenders
A Thonotosassa man sur- rendered to police in connec- tion with a deadly hit and run accident. The accident took place on U. S. Highway 301 and Sligh Avenue, shortly after 4:30 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Jacob Aaron Weinert, 28, of Lockport, Illinois, was riding his bicycle within a marked bicycle lane, southbound on U. S. Highway 301. The unidentified driver of a white pickup truck is said to have struck Weinert, and fled the scene. The truck was last seen turning west onto Sligh Avenue. Weinert was fa- tally injured and died at the scene.

Baker was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal traffic crash and tampering with physical evidence. He was booked into the Hills- borough County Jail.
