Pastor Philetha Tucker-Johnson has ‘re- tired’ from the day-to-day rit- ual of the classroom, but she’s still a teacher. Just recently, she was more than honored as “I shared the pulpit with 2 of my former students from Robinson High School, class of 1988-89 at my church (Christ of Calvary Community Church)!” The event was Youth Day.
But Pastor Tucker- Johnson had a full weekend with former students. She was in the presence of 3 of her for- mer students, who are now ministers.
On Friday, July 28, 2017, she attended the Hats and Heels Conference at St. James AME Church in Progress Vil- lage, Rev. Michael Price is the host pastor. The confer- ence was organized by Rev. Byron and Wendy Press- ley. Minister Chantel Rosson was the Friday night speaker. Pastor Tucker- Johnson was her high school English teacher.

Then, on Saturday morn- ing, Pastor Tucker-John- son was one of the speakers for the conference.
On Sunday afternoon Pas- tor Tucker-Johnson was in the presence of her students again. Rev. Reginald Ed- wards drove from Callahan, FL to speak to the young peo- ple at Christ of Calvary (in
West Tampa) for their Youth Day program. Rev. Pressley attended this program also.
Pastor Tucker-Johnson taught Rosson, Edwards and Pressley in high school.
“To see them all grown up and impacting lives like this was so rewarding. What an awesome weekend I had!,” she exclaimed.
