Bucs Arrange Kicker Tryouts
Odell Beckham Suffered Fractured Ankle; No Decision Yet On Surgery
ODELL BECKHAM, JR.
Odell Beckham, Jr. suf- fered a possible season end- ing ankle injury during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, but any reports about him undergoing surgery were apparently pre- mature.
Not long after Beckham was carted off the field, the Giants announced that the star receiver has a fractured ankle.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported on Sunday that Beckham was headed for surgery immediately after the game, but the team says that report was inaccurate.
Former Bucs Coach Lovie Smith Puts Home On The Market For $4.8M
Former Tampa Bay Buc- caneers coach Lovie Smith is selling his home in Tampa Palms.
Former Tampa Bay Bucca- neers head coach Lovie Smith and his wife have put their Tampa estate on the market.
Smith's home in Tampa Palms has been listed for sale at $4.8 million. Including the outdoor areas, the home is more than 10,000 square feet with six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half bath- rooms.
It sits on 13 acres, accord- ing to the property listing, and includes a guest house along with a guest tower suite. It has "his and hers offices" and an 800-bottle wine cellar.
CBS Anthem Report On Colin Kaepernick Embellished, Inaccurate
In the aftermath of the Bucs' 19-14 loss to the Patriots in which kicker Nick Folk went 0-for-3 on field-goal at- tempts, the team is working out kickers in Tampa.
The tryouts are specifically for available kickers and so far free agents Andrew Franks and Mike Nugent are ex- pected to be there along with 2-3 others.
While this may not be good news for Folk, that the workouts may simply be a warning. Coach Dirk Koet- ter said after the loss that

they won't make any "rash de- cisions" regarding their cur- rent kicker.
CBS Sports and Jason La Canfora appear to have been caught embellishing a report about Colin Kaepernick that also contained inaccura- cies.
On Sunday morning, CBS touted an exclusive as La Canfora having a sit down in- terview with Kaepernick. They billed it that way both on Twitter and when introducing La Canfora to speak.
“He’s not planning on kneeling ... he’s planning on standing for the anthem if given the opportunity,” La Canfora reported.

Kaepernick would stand for the anthem if signed made headlines. Unfortunately, Kaep’s girlfriend says that re- port is false and that the free agent QB has not discussed his plans to stand for the anthem with anyone.

Texans' J. J. Watt Leaves Game With Knee Injury
Game: ‘Maybe I Don’t Have It Anymore’
J. J. Watt left the Texans' game with the Chiefs Sunday night midway through the first quarter with a knee in- jury
Watt went down on the field after rushing Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith on a pass play. There appeared to be almost no contact on the play.
Watt had to be helped off the field, clearly favoring his left leg. After being checked in the medical tent, he was transported on a cart to the locker room. NBC Sports re-
Ben Roethlisberger’s
confidence was clearly shot after a brutal game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sun- day.
Big Ben was intercepted five times during a 30-9 home loss to the Jags. After the game, Roethlisberger won- dered whether he still was a good player.
Roethlisberger’s num- bers were 33 of 55 for 312 yards and five interceptions.

Roethlisberger still “has it.” He’s just the latest mem- ber of the “brutalized by the Jaguars” QB club.
Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens Ask
The reporter whose ques- tion to Carolina Panther's Cam Newton was answered with a remark that sparked controversy and led to an apol- ogy from the quarterback is now apologizing herself on Twitter.
Jourdan Rodrigue, 25, a reporter for the Charlotte Ob- server, who covers the Pan- thers, apologized Thursday for tweets she sent in 2012 and 2013 that she called "offen- sive."
"I apologize for the offen- sive tweets from my Twitter account 4/5 years ago," Ro- drigue said in a Twitter state- ment. "There is no excuse for these tweets and the sentiment behind them. I am deeply sorry and apologize."
The Observer reported that the tweets, which Rodrigue posted while in college and have since been deleted, sur- faced Wednesday night on so- cial media.
In a December 2012 tweet, Rodrigue said, "My dad is being super racist as we pass through Navajo land."
In another tweet in August 2013, she tweeted: "He's the

best. Racist jokes the whole drive home."
In May 2013, Rodrigue quoted a Twitter parody ac- count: "The earth moves at 450+ mph that's 10 times triller than NASCAR Dale Earnhart's (sic) a b---- n—."
On Sunday, Cam Newton further elaborated on his com- ment to Charlotte Observer re- porter Jourdan Rodrigue, where he said, "It's funny to hear a female talk about routes.”
Following the Panthers 27- 24 win in Detroit, Newton said he learned his lesson and "my sarcasm trying to give someone a compliment turned in ways I never would have imagined," according to Tiffany Blackmon of NFL Network.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson hasn't played in the NFL since 2011, but he appears to be ready to play again.
The 39-year-old receiver sent a tweet to the Giants fol- lowing their several wide re- ceiver injuries, highlighted by Odell Beckham. The Gi- ants say Beckham has a broken ankle, which would mean he's going to miss the rest of the season. So, John- son said, "What's up?"
In addition to Beckham, receivers Brandon Mar- shall, Sterling Shepard and Dwayne Harris were all hurt. Harris has a broken ankle, which keeps him out for likely the whole season. Marshall has a sprained ankle and was carted off the field. Shepard suffered an

ankle injury, although the severity looks unclear.
There's no doubt the Gi- ants will be looking at the free agent market to add a re- ceiver, but Johnson would me a major longshot. He's probably half-joking with his job request anyways.
As for the Giants, it will be interesting to see who they add at receiver with so many injuries.
Turns out Terrell Owens wants a job, too.

ported he was taken directly to the X-ray room. The Tex- ans announced Watt is out with a knee injury.
