According to
the Haines City Police Depart- ment, shortly after 9 p.m., Sun- day, an officer was dispatched to the Haines City Police Depart- ment in reference to a suspicious incident. When the officer ar- rived, he learned that a juvenile had been left at the closed police department. A witness had con- tacted police.
The officer said the 12-year- old male child was very upset and crying. He also had a small duffel bag with several articles of clothing. When questioned, the child told the officer that Eve- naud Julmeus had left him on the side of the road because he thinks he (the child) is gay.
The 12-year-old told the offi- cer that Julmeus and the child had gotten into an argument and that Julmeus told him to pack a bag and get into the vehicle. Julmeus reportedly told the child he was taking him to the police department.
After reaching the location, Julmeus was in the turn lane when he told the child to get out and that the police would find him a new home. The police de- partment was closed at the time and the child did not have any food, water, or money.
When the child’s mother dis- covered that Julmeus returned home without the child, she asked where he was and Jul- meus told her he had taken him to the police department and left him.
The mother left the residence in an attempt to locate her son, leaving two other children at home. When police attempted to locate Julmeus, he had left the residence, leaving the two chil- dren alone without adult super- vision.
Julmeus was later located and taken into custody.
