Writer Says Jay-Z And
Trey Songz Following In Queen Bey’s Footsteps: Releases New Project
Trey Songz and his latest project.
Trey Songz just got on the Beyonce bandwagon and released a surprise album called Intermission I & II!
It's 12 tracks of mostly Trey with only one feature from Pusha T on "How Could You Forget".
Just last month, Trey Songz issued the 6-songs EP Intermission (in place of the album Trigga Reloaded), those songs are included in this project.
The Creators of Neo-Soul ‘The Roots’ To Release New Album
‘The Roots’ to release a new album.
Legendary Hip Hop crew ‘The Roots’ has released 11 albums since 1993 starting with the group’s debut Or- ganix.
According to frontman Black Thought, the house band for The Tonight Show is currently working on their next LP.
He recently said, “I feel like we are embarking on a new chapter in our lives and in our careers, so it’s time to either make more music or to stop making music, and we’re not going to stop. Music is on the horizon,” said Black Thought.
While The Roots pre- pare to drop another project in the near future, the Philadelphia natives’ discog- raphy already includes col- laborations with some of the most prominent music fig- ures of the last 25 years. That list includes soul singers like, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and Cody ChesnuTT. Black Thought touches on how his band helped usher in the 1990’s sub-genre of R&B known as “Neo-Soul.”
DJ Khaled No Longer With Cash Money Records
Beyonce Paid Bail For Ferguson And Baltimore Protestors
Apparently, DJ Khaled quietly parted ways with Cash Money Records. The leader of We The Best Music Group revealed during a sit down with The Breakfast Club that his brand is no longer officially connected to Birdman’s label.
“I’m not signed to Cash Money at all. I’ve been off for a minute,” said Khaled. “That’s family. Lil Wayne and Bird- man, that’s family... It’s just We The Best. Nothing nega- tive, everything is beautiful.”
The Miami representative joins Busta Rhymes, Mys-
DJ KHALED
tikal, and Shad “Bow
Wow” Moss as recent depar- tures from Cash Money. Lil Wayne and Tyga have also publicly expressed their inter- est to leave the company, and there have been rumors Drake is close to cutting ties as well.
According to the co-author of Jay Z’s book, Dream Hamp- ton (left), he and Beyonce sent thousands of dollars for bail for protestors.
R. Kelly Reveals Name Of 14th Studio Album ‘The Buffet’
The purist form of giving is anonymous” and “You don’t know all the s*t I do for the homies,” raps Jay Z on “Nickels and Dimes.”
On the song, the Brook- lyn emcee was hinting that he does a lot of philanthropic work that the public may not know about. Writer/activist Dream Hampton actually revealed some of Jay’s quiet charity on Twitter.
The co-author of Jay’s 2010 book Decoded posted tweets claiming he and wife Beyoncé spent “tens of thousands” of dollars bailing out protesters in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland.
Hampton later deleted the tweets, but she did con- firm the information with The Guardian.
“I’m going to tweet this and I don’t care if Jay gets mad,” tweeted Hampton
on Sunday. “When we needed money for bail for Baltimore protesters, I [hit] Jay up, as I had for Fergu- son, [he] wired tens of thou- sands in mins.”
Hampton also wrote the Carters gave money to the Black Lives Matter organiza- tion, but the two superstars asked their donations not be made public.
The Carters were widely praised for this selfless act after the news broke — but Black people should not be surprised that a much grim- mer tale is being told on Conservative Twitter.
Conservative Twitter trolls have been quick to borrow Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings- Blake’s racially coded lan- guage – accusing them of being “thugs.”
Their outrage has been well documented.
Looks like R. Kelly is dodging the sequel to his 2014 release, Black Panties, which was called White Panties.
During a recent appear- ance on HLN's The Daily Share, the Pied Piper of R&B spoke with host Rocsi Diaz about his upcoming 14th studio album, now titled The Buffet, and he says "expect the unexpected."
"It's all you can hear," said Kelly on why he named the project Buffet. "I'm 27 years deep in the business, I've been blessed to do this music for so long and I've got a lot of great songs under my belt, and fans love it. But, I've got all differ- ent kinds of generations of fans now, and I have to feed everybody. You've got hip hop, you've got old school music with the 'Step In The Name of Love' type of music, 'Happy
R. KELLY
People' type of music, then you've got traditional R. Kelly; sensuous, sexual kind of music. It's just a variety of things, so I call it The Buffet."
Prior to visiting HLN, R. Kelly, who is on the 2015 Funk Fest tour with artist like Erykah Badu, Mint Condi- tion, SWV, Whodini, stopped by Atlanta's V-103. While on the show, the music veteran sung a little before discussing his social conscious new song, "Planet’’, inspired by the happenings in Balti- more.
