Gibbs Junior College Alumni To Celebrate 60th Anniversary
Ban On Outdoor Burning Extended
Members of the Emergency Group Police have extended an emergency order on outdoor burning until at least May 25th. The ban was issued at the end of April as a result of dry conditions.
The warm temperatures and dry conditions have results in numerous wildfires throughout the Tampa Bay Area.
Under the Executive Order, the following activities are no longer allowed until further notice:
All outdoor open burning is prohibited. The only exception is burning that has been specifically allowed by the Florida For- est Service.
The ban also prohibits fireworks and sparklers.
Outdoor grilling is allowed as long as the flames are con- tained within a grill or other fireproof container. The fire must be constantly watched and completely extinguished.
If conditions continue, the ban can be extended every 7 days.
