AIKENS
MR. TIMOTHY DEWITT WILLIAMS, SR.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Timothy DeWitt Williams, Sr., “Big Tim” of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, will be held on Thurs- day, May 25, 2017, 12 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Yvonne Jackson, officiating. The interment will follow.
Tim was born on September 20, 1956 in Tampa, Florida. Tim is the eldest son of Mr. James and Margaret Love of Tampa. Tim received Christ as his sav- ior and was baptized May 7, 1970 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.
Timothy attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School, com- pleting the full 8th grade cur- riculum and graduating in 1974 from Tampa Catholic High School. Tim pursued culinary arts as his major at Hillsbor- ough Community College, later becoming a chef for 25 years, having to retire due to medical issues.
He spent time volunteering at the church. He remained an avid reader of books with many collections of current and out- dated books. Tim kept active and enjoyed repairing and the restoring things.
Tim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clearance McRae and Leola McRae-Jones, two uncles, Joseph W. McRae and Freder- ick McRae, and aunt, Joyce McRae-Hillsman.
Tim is survived by his par- ents, James and Margaret Love; son, Timothy Dewitt Williams, Jr.; brother, Eric Love; sister, Rita Thomas; uncles, Louie McRae (Ida) of San Diego, CA and Jerome Thompson (Kay) of St. Petersburg, FL; aunts, Ros- alyn Simmons (Ike), Cynthia Cherry , Cathy Burrell (Tommy), Denise McRae, all of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lilly Ruth Staley, Lula Richardson and Cynthia McRae, all of Tampa, FL; niece, Keyanie Love; nephew, Messiah Love; and a host of cousins and other loving family members.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Thursday for the me- morial service.

MRS. ESSIE ROBERSON
Mrs. Essie D. Roberson a long time resident of Tampa passed away Thursday morning May 18, 2017, in her home with her daughter and son-in law by her side. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, at 11 a. m. at Beulah Baptist Institu- tional Church, 1006 W. Cypress Street. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Essie was a native of Jack- son, Mississippi and resident of Tampa for over 50 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in the field of Elementary Educa- tion from Jackson State College and a Master’s degree from Uni- versity of Tampa. She was a re- tired educator of the School District of Hillsborough County, where she served for 30 years with excellence.
Essie was an active member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Alpha Omicron Chapter and served in many ca- pacities for over 40 years. Mrs. Roberson served as a Deaconess at New Salem M. B. Church and Beulah Baptist Institutional Church for over 25 years.
She was pre-deceased by: her husband, Louis Roberson.
She is survived by: her daughter, Varneese Tramel and son-in-law, Joseph Allen Tramel; grandsons, Louis Tramel and Christian Tramel; seven great- grandchildren; sis- ter-in-law, Lula Hunter; first cousin, Emma Weston (Ms.), and a host of extended family.
The visitation will begin at 5 p. m., Wednesday, May 24 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.

TARVER ... Charged with murder
TIMOTHY K. DAVIS, JR. Died on May 15th
Police have arrested a 26- year-old man in connection with the death of a father of 6. The murder took place on May 15th.
According to the St. Peters- burg Police Department, Timo- thy Karl Davis, Jr., was discovered at the intersection of 11th Avenue, South and 23rd Street on May 15th, at approximately 6:36 p.m. Police responded to the scene within 90 seconds of re- ceiving the 9-1-1 call about shots being fired.
Davis, 34, who was the fa- ther of 6 children, was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of the gunshot wounds.
The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. However, po- lice later identified Denzel Rashad Tarver as the alleged shooter and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Tarver was arrested over the weekend and charged with sec- ond-degree murder, police said.
Investigators did not disclose any information about what pre- ceded the shooting.
