Leonard Could Sit Out Season With Raptors
KAWHI LEONARD
Kawhi Leonard is said to have no interest in playing for the Raptors, and the star for- ward could reportedly go to ex- treme measures to make his new team regret acquiring him in a trade.
According to Sean De- veney of the Sporting News, Leonard is so adamant about not playing for the Raptors that he may consider sitting out the entire 2018-2019 season.
League sources allegedly re- ported Leonard has no inter- est in playing for the Raptors. There have been indications that he would sit out the entire season if necessary, and though that step would be drastic and unprecedented in today’s game, Toronto has forced the situa- tion into uncharted territory by acquiring a player who has made it clear he does not want to be there.
The Raptors are clearly hop- ing their situation with Leonard turns out like the one with Paul George and the Oklahoma City Thunder, but there appears to be very little chance of that happening.
Leonard wants to play for the Lakers, and even a deep playoff run with Toronto might not change his mind.

Falcons Will Not Give Julio Jones A Raise
Tiger Woods teed off at 10:21 a.m. this morning (Thursday) at The Open Championship at Carnoustie. It marks Tiger’s 20th start at the most historic tournament in golf, which he’s won three times. It’s his first appear- ance at the tournament since 2015, when he missed the cut.
His playing partners are Hideki Matsuyama and Russell Knox. Woods en- ters ranked No. 71 in the world. Matsuyama is 16th and Knox 49th. Woods and Matsuyama have played to- gether a handful of times.
A burning question at every major now is whether Tiger has a chance or not. Things could always go terri- bly, but at The Open, he has a real chance to contend for
two reasons. First, he’s strik- ing the ball well right now and looks more fit than he has in years.
Second, The Open sets up in a more Tiger-friendly way than any of the other three majors.
Golf Digest’s Alex Mey- ers lays out the comprehen- sive case for a possible Tiger breakthrough at Carnoustie. A notable point in the 42- year-old’s favor is that older players do better at The Open than the other majors, with a few factors at play in that. Terrible weather often visits Open courses, making the en- tire tournament volatile. It takes a savvy golf brain to succeed on an Open rota track, and Tiger’s golf mind is as sharp as anyone’s.
Julio Jones may not be getting what he wants from the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons told Jones that they will not be restruc- turing his contract to give him a raise for this season.
Jones skipped the Fal- cons’ OTAs and minicamp be- cause he wanted an “update” on his contract, which is a friendlier way of saying he wanted a raise.
Jones signed a six-year, $81.4 million contract before

the 2015 season and is under contract through 2020. He is set to earn $10.5 million this season.
