HART Exec Chosen Among 2018 ‘Businesswoman Of The Year’ Honorees

For the past 14 years, the Tampa Bay Business Journal (TBBJ) has selected women with outstanding contribu- tions for their “Business- woman of the Year” award. This year, has made some changes in their selections.
There are no categories and there is no overall winner. So, on August 17, the TBBJ will celebrate the accomplish- ments of 27 women named as finalists. The event will take place at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina.
One of the honorees will be Ms. Kenyatta Lee, Chief Administrative Officer and Interim Chief of Staff of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority.

nity at large. All twenty-seven finalists are winners,” Ms. Lee said.
She was recognized not only for her business success, but her passion and drive to improve the public transit in- dustry.
The annual award distin- guishes the exemplary busi- ness women within their respective industries who have made a tremendous im-
pact on our community. It celebrates the achievements of women by highlighting their successes in business throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Commissioner Lesley "Les" Miller said, "Ms. Lee is passionate about the pub- lic transportation profession and recognizes the impor- tance of transportation as an economic engine and a criti- cal element of our country's quality of life.
“This recognition is well deserved, and we are fortu- nate to have Ms. Lee, a proven leader and dedicated HART employee, as our CAO and Interim Chief of Staff.
“The nomination is an- other testament to the hard work of HART staff, the Board of Directors, and the entire HART family, as we are always working together to provide the exceptional transit service this commu- nity deserves."
The honorees were se- lected from more than 300 nominations.
